Good overnight stop location when travelling south.

Don't expect an adjoining restaurant it's just a motorway cafe with expensive not very nice food

There were stains on the carpet, the sofa in our room was very shabby and stained (Definitely would not want to sit on it). Very noisy room as we were just above the entrance to the hotel and it was very noisy every time someone came in and out of the hotel, we would hear the mechanism from the two automatic doors. The walls in our room were very thin and we could hear over quests talking in the room adjoining our. In fact we could even hear our neighbours turning on switches. The bathroom was tired and the woodwork under the sink area was stained. Also there were still some old signage from the previous hotel. chain (Premier Inn).

The two guys on reception were great , we had 3 young noisy children and they never once told us to keep the noise down , needed help with our wifi they was happy to help , we had two rooms next to each other as we requested, bedding clean , towels clean.

Hotel is in the motorway service station, but its a little away from the parking so you don't get too disturbed by overnight trucks/coaches/cars etc. Right next to eaterie, but bear in mind there's only a few things open 24hrs, so if you get there late then there isn't a lot of choice.

눉We had a very well behaved dog with us. We think we were given a room used for people travelling with dogs. The sofa was dirty and tatty. Why charge extra for a dog if you are reducing the quality of the room? Arrived at 8.30pm and only place to get food was McDonalds or a panini at costa coffee. So eat before arriving.

눉No cold water in the bathhowever the very helpful receptionist allowed me to use an adjoining bathroom . Very poor soundproofing between rooms . Noisy family with kids across corridor in room 38 . I had to push a note under their door to ask for quiet at 11.30pm

눉It would of been great however the M6 was closed for road works, I was not informed and on the first night I had to travel an extra 40 miles and spend over one hour trying to find an emergency access road to access the services/hotel. On the second night I tried to make sure I left early to avoid the M6 closure but road works started earlier, again I spent and extra 30 minutes and 20 miles driving around to access the emergency access road to be escorted to the services, absolute nightmare!

눉Last time we stayed the food at the Road Chef was nice, however this time the food was terrible and service not great
