Demeter House is a wonderful holiday home situated in the heart of the picturesque and historical North Yorkshire coastal fishing town of Whitby. With four bedrooms spread over three floors and an inviting kitchen /diner with far reaching views across the estuary to the steam railway. A separate comfy living room offers the opportunity to relax after a busy day exploring the coastline and a private outside patio and garden offer additional space to take in the sea air with your morning coffee or for alfresco dining. The decor is stylish and well thought out, it has a modern rustic feel and a nod to its nautical location. Situated near the beach and within walking distance to Whitby Harbour, it’s the perfect place to be beside the sea. It also comes complete with private parking for two vehicles. Demeter House is great for walking, family fun, group gathering or simply to relax beside the sea, ideally placed to discover all that the spectacular North Yorkshire coastline has to offer.

Whitby with all its rich history and intrigue is a short walk from the house, with everything you could need for a perfect stay by the coast. On the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the Church of St. Mary, reached by 199 steps. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, in the house where Cook once lived, displays paintings and maps. West of the town is West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts and the giant whale bone arch is not to be missed. Of course, Whitby is also famous for excellent fish and chips! Within a short drive you are on the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. With its stunning moorland landscape, picturesque villages and ancient abbeys, the National Park provides plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling or leisurely sightseeing. Alternatively, you can take the steam train that leaves Whitby, stopping at Grossmont, home to the TV programme, ’Heartbeat’, or carry on down to the market town of Pickering.
