What a wonderful place to stay and Cameron and Dani could not have been more accommodating - such delightful people and wonderful breakfast and great rooms. Location is stunning too. Would highly recommend this place, but not when I want to go again to ensure there's a room so I can book it! Haha!

Well appointed room, modern conveniences with a great shower-breakfast was really delicious with plenty of choice. There was a guest lounge and lovely garden. Ample parking onsite. Our hosts were extremely helpful with local knowledge - would highly recommend staying here!

Dani and Cameron are excellent hosts. Rooms are spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and comfortable with some nice touches which make such a difference. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely book again.

Everything, hosts, rooms, cleanliness and breakfast. Couldn't fault anything. Would definitely recommend.

The hosts are wonderful people. Very friendly and attentive. Nothing is a problem Rooms were spotless Great breakfasts Plenty of parking Would definitely stay again as great base for everywhere

Breakfast and property was excellent as was our hosts, only one small issue being the size of the bedroom bathroom and TV.

Cameron & Dani were excellent welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was great. Accommodation was lovely with a beautiful garden - the photo doesn't do it justice.

We loved staying there! we were made to feel very welcome, both Danni and Cameron we so attentive and nothing was any trouble. The breakfast was superb, especially the Haggis and Black Pudding combo. Will definitely book again when we are next in the area climbing the The 3 Sisters :-)

Dani and Cameron were brilliant hosts who made us feel incredibly comfortable and at home. The breakfast options were great - the pancakes especially hit the spot!

What a lovely B&B dani and Cameron are amazing hosts room was spotless the breakfast was spot on I would definitely recommend

Our aim is to provide you with a wonderfully relaxing stay so you can enjoy and make the most of your time in the Scottish Highlands. From the minute you arrive, we'll take care of your essential needs starting with plenty of off-road parking and a warm and genuine welcome. For our thirsty travellers, we have our own bar stocked with local craft beers and a small selection of spirits, whiskies and mixers and our delicious sharing platters are the perfect answer to a light and easy early evening meal. Our large comfortable lounge and beautiful gardens provide a fabulous space to relax and unwind and our bedrooms are extremely well appointed offering a comfortable night's sleep, plenty of hot water and excellent wifi. We also provide complimentary tea and coffee, luxury toiletries, hairdryers and soft fluffy towels as well as quality bed linen. For your breakfast we source local produce, providing various options of freshly cooked hot food and our buffet with fresh fruit, various cereals, fruit juices, jams, tea and coffee etc. Cameron's homemade pancakes are a particular favourite with our guests. We also have two electric bikes for guest hire during your stay.
We (Dani and Cameron) took over Distant Hills in July 2019 having spent the previous 5 years working as chalet hosts, ski and walking guides in Switzerland, Italy, Austria and the USA. We have also both served in the Royal Air Force for a number of years which may explain our high standards of cleanliness but we are a very relaxed couple.. We love to travel and are keen walkers, skiers, mountain bikers and generally anything outdoors. When we are not working in the guest house, we are usually out and about exploring the local and surrounding areas and then sharing photos and stories on our Distant Hills Guest House Facebook page. We love nothing more than sharing our knowledge of the area and all the fabulous things to see and do with our guests. We are happy for you to contact us before your stay if you have any questions about places to visit or particular interests you may have and we have a selection of guidebooks and maps to borrow during your stay. We also love languages and thoroughly enjoy listening to the vibrant buzz of different languages being spoken at breakfast time and even having a go ourselves! We love people and we love what we do! Our home is your home!
Spean Bridge is a small rural village with a convenience store, post office and a couple of very good gift shops. There are two excellent restaurants within the village, two pubs and a cafe. We recommend guests book ahead during the busy summer period. There are more excellent restaurants a short drive away as well as in the nearby town of Fort William, which also has a number of shops, supermarkets, a small museum and a cinema. Spean Bridge a great central location for day trips to the Big 3 of the West Highlands - Ben Nevis, Loch Ness, and the Isle of Skye . Other areas easily explored from Distant Hills are Fort William, Glencoe, Aviemore, Oban and Inverness and we can recommend itineraries tailored to your interests. Another hugely popular attraction is the Jacobite steam train and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, also known as the 'Harry Potter bridge'. Tickets for the Jacobite steam train are booked up months in advance with a limited number being released on the day. Surrounded by forests, lochs, glens, hills and mountains, Spean Bridge also makes the perfect base for hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking and skiing in the winter. We can make recommendations for all abilities.
