Less than a 3 min walk to/from the NCL airport, which made leaving for my 0445 flight super easy on both myself and my partner. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Was able to pay for overnight parking the night before and my partner enjoyed the 12 p checkout. We’ll definitely be using this hotel in the future as most of my flights leaving NCL are stupid early morning flights. Restaurant food was delicious.

The DoubleTree by Hilton is a classic hotel, loved for years by visitors to Newcastle. Located adjacent to Newcastle International Airport, it provides the perfect base for trips away, but it’s equally ideal for exploring the vibrant city center. Enjoy museums and art centers and relax in the expansive parks. Each of the 193 modern bedrooms with attached bathroom features all the Amenities you need for when you return. Use the free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV’s and tea and coffee making facilities at your leisure. You’ll also enjoy access to the fitness suite. Fratello’s restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine, with pasta, thin crust pizza and perfectly cooked meat and fish dishes on the menu. After dinner, you can visit the Columbus Bar which provides a wide variety of drinks, while serving a menu of light bits and traditional main courses.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.5 for a two-person trip.
