FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Whether you want Aberdeen hotels with a pool, or rural accommodation surrounded by hills, don’t miss the deals on Booking.com!

Aberdeen is a great place to visit, we had a theatre & a concert visit included in our trip and both venues were really good apart from the P&J charging a fortune for food & drink. If you're travelling by car beware of the bus lane restrictions which are not well advertised and will result in a hefty fine if you transgress. The sea food in the restaurants, The Atrium & Bistro Verde, was first class and possibly the best I have ever had. Union Street was a great place to wander around, The Union Cafe was very, very good for a pit stop for coffee/tea & cake and the variety of shops was great.

It's sad that, despite the wealth that poured into the city in the 70s/80s it looks tired and city planning clearly has been lacking. Architecture is poor compared to other Scottish cities, shopping likewise. The beach toilets were locked up - only toilets we could find were at Footdee. Such a shame this city, that has had the impact of the energy industry doesn't feel like it has done anything positive as a consequence.

The city is beautiful , but a nightmare to drive in , as do many bus lanes, ( which are quick to catch you out and get fined ) The sat nav is not always right so be careful when entering the city centre area Apart from this a vibrant city

I have stayed at the CraigHaar Hotel many times in the past and always found the Staff to be friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good as its close to Aberdeen Airport and you are only a few miles from the centre of Aberdeen city. My room was good and wifi was free and easy to log onto. I enjoyed my evening meal and breakfast the following morning so no complaints there. The only downside was that the room tended to be a bit stuffy and didnt have AC as far as I could make out but it was bearable with the window open.

The member of staff, assume supervisor, on breakfast was very pleasant and helpful. Room was large with two decent sized beds. Whole hotel was very clean and tidy. Leisure facilities modern and well looked after, good than they limit the number of people as the pool is small however you can't not book slots so there is potential of being turned away at peak times. Good soundproofing in rooms especially as near airport. Good location with essy access to main routes in and out of Aberdeen City centre, airport and nearby areas.

We had trouble finding it in the dark on a rainy night. We called and an employee came out back to lead us in once we parked. So kind and thoughtful. We loved our rooms and had an excellent dinner in the bar. We were dissapointed in the selection of Merch. We bought 2 tees but they were not what we had seen on the wall. Get more items that say Aberdeen or Scotland on them. We would highly recomend this hotel and restaurant. Loved the Elvis Juice beer!

We had to go to Aberdeen unexpectedly as our son was admitted to the hospital after being assaulted. The hotel was fairly close, so it was handy from that point of view. Given that we had to book 3 rooms altogether for our other young adult children, it was very cheap, so it was fit for purpose as just somewhere to sleep. The staff were all very friendly and helpful though.
