Host is very knowledgeable about the area, very engaging and ready to help make your stay enjoyable.
United States of AmericaEverything was perfect, great breakfast and short walk to town. Car parking outside the property. Congenial host mine of information about Skye and Kyle. Very comfortable bed and huge range of toiletries available. DVDs and books for loan. Well appointed room. Easy access to Isle of Skye via bridge.
AustraliaEverything, Shelagh was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble. Bedroom was spotless, there was even a little dram in your room for you. We had to leave early for the ferry and would have missed breakfast, but no problem for Shelagh she prepared us a lovely lunch & I’m sure it was a bit of home baking of a lovely cake ( thought I’d smelt baking the night before ). She gave us tips for sightseeing, advise and we wouldn’t have seen half of what we did if it wasn’t for her. In these sad times with COVID her home was adapted following all rules and we felt completely safe - thanks again Shelagh for making our stay comfortable & safe
United KingdomEverything. the owner was an exceptional host who went above and beyond all expectations. you could not have wanted for anything else. absolutely fabulous.
United KingdomShelagh is so friendly and hospitable, my partner and I have already discussed returning in the future and decided we’d love to stay there again if we do.

United KingdomVery clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast, extra touches by the owner, fridge in the room containing fresh milk and bottles of water, biscuits on the tea tray and a wee dram of whisky. Very enjoyable stay.
United KingdomExceptionally clean with well stocked toilet facilities etc. The complimentary whiskey was most welcome. Breakfast excellent - fresh eggs sausage etc. Our host was most welcoming, smiley with excellent hosting skills.
United KingdomWhat a wonderful host! Nothing was too much trouble, Shelagh was great to talk to about what to do and where to go in the area. Just great to talk to about anything 😀.
United KingdomFasgath B&B was exceptional, Shelagh honestly has thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and has such a wealth of knowledge about the local area that it made our time in and around Skye brilliant. We also found it to be in the perfect location to explore Skye.

Fasgath was built circa 1880. Kyle of Lochalsh became a thriving hub when the railway arrived here in 1869. It was also the main port for the ferry to the outer hebrides. Fasgath was built using granite from Applecross and has an unusual black painted frontage with white lines marking the outline of the granite blocks. There are around six similar houses in the village all built by the same family of builders.
I enjoy chatting with my guests and giving them my local knowledge of the area. You will enjoy true highland hospitality at Fasgath.I enjoy walking and provide copies of local walks for guests. Being a B&B host doesn't allow much time for hobbies but gardening is my true passion. I have won prizes for some of my roses in the front garden. Some of the fruit grown in the garden makes its way to the breakfast table if the birds don't get it first.
The best thing about Kyle of Lochalsh is the fact that it is the gateway to the Isle of Skye. A five minute drive over the bridge and you have arrived in Skye. Kyle has a magnificent viewpoint just ten minutes walk from the house, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Skye Bridge, Cuillins and the Applecross Mountains and beyond. The famous village of Plockton is only 15 minutes drive away. Enjoy enroute the highland cattle wandering freely along the road in Duirinish. Eilean Donan Castle is 15 minutes drive away with its stunning views and visitor centre.
