To be honest our visit was mainly spent at other locations and attractions. Very handy for Chatsworth Estate which took all day.
Unable to make any real honest observations about the village apart from its lovely location and peacefulness-which was most welcome.

A pretty village in between Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House...
A pretty village in between Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House so ideal for those who love such attractions. Two or three super pubs and a little mill craft shop and local post office. Simply a pleasant ambience in a beautiful location.
I loved the tranquility and the absolute comfort of the place. You wake up to birdsong and walk outside to these painterly hills and little lambs hopping around in the fields. The hosts Lisa and Paul are incredibly friendly. They have excellent tips for local activities and showed us around the farm. The accommodation itself faces the hills and provides fantastic sunset views. It is very clean, comfortable, and provides you with all the utilities you might need (and then some). The name is apt: hillside haven.
Like a hotel room. Tea and coffee, biscuits, chococlates, glasses, towels, toiletries, hair dryer, TV ... everything was thought of. All was spotlessly clean. Friendly welcome but also easy to gain access using a code to open front door. Excellent value for money. Convenient location close to beautiful countryside and attractions like Chatsworth House.
Really close to be able to go and do something different every day, lots of local public walks with great views. Great accommodation, with mini horses and chickens to see as well, all the amenities for self catering but with the plus of a lovely pub over the road that also allows dogs.
This is an excellent hotel. It isn't one of the biggest I have stayed in, but it is certainly one of the best. All of the staff were superb and the food was delightful. The hotel is full of character and is in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area.
My friends and I loved the location coz’ it’s just next to the main road and also close to Bakewell which is a charming town.
It’s very clean, with good facilities and communication with the owner was pretty smooth.
The entire accommodation is spacious.
A wonderful clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was superb, such a wide choice on the menu, something to suit everyone. Helen was so helpful and friendly, a really enjoyable short break, the weather was also very kind, lots of warm sunshine.
Great location in a forest with excellent walks available. Games room and hot tub was enjoyed by the children and adults. The property has wonderful views and the decor is fairly modern. Good lighting and bedroom accommodation.
Lovely location with plenty of walks available on the doorstep. The Druid inn opposite served great food.
Comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a stay away from home.
Dog friendly too!
The food was excellent, as were the staff who were very friendly. A very genuine and comfortable hotel which was not uncomfortably boutique. Well worth a visit around the Haddon Estate.
