Foxlease is located on beautiful grounds surrounded by nature. Our room was a great surprise, the South Africa style room was very spacious and nicely decorated. We had a balcony overlooking the garden. Very good value for money especially on a bank holiday.

  • Hi, my husband and I were thinking of taking our bicycles with us for a weekend trip and wondered if there is somewhere secure to store bikes at Foxlease? thanks, Tricia

  • Hello is this a dog friendly hotel I would like to book your standard single room with my miniature schnauzer dotty for 3 night 22rd July till Sunday because I’m a teacher and will need a break

Property info

Foxlease is a hidden gem in the heart of the New Forest, it is one of the four Training and Activity centres owned by Girlguiding. The Foxlease Estate was gifted to Girl Guiding in 1922 by Mrs Archbold Sanderson. Girlguiding is extremely grateful to have this wonderful centre, with continued support to the Girlguiding Charity we are able to share this centre. Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We give them a space to have fun. The house and grounds are now open to all when they are not being uses for training and offer the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The bedrooms are basic but comfortable, all with ensuite facilities, and each reflects the character of the house in their individual way! There are many things to do in the New Forest, from exploring new place, spending the day at the beach, walking or cycling the plentiful tracks. Our site has direct access to the forest, and Lyndhurst is a 15 minute walk away.

Neighborhood info

It takes just 15 minutes to walk the ½-mile into the centre of Lyndhurst. It's the largest and most central of the New Forest's towns and, as a result, is the main base to get yourself equipped. There's a visitor centre in Lyndhurst – the place to go to gem up on bike routes if you haven't learnt enough at the campsite – and you can hire from Lyndhurst if you have not brought your own (bikes are also available for hire in Brockenhurst). The centre also has a good museum. Elsewhere, one of the best, and most accessible, picnic spots in the New Forest is at Balmerlawn, just north of Brockenhurst, where the bobbly heathland, studded with ancient oaks, shallow streams and grassy hillocks, is popular with gangs of grazing ponies. Various forestry tracks head off from here and all are ideal for a walk or cycle ride. Wandering from Brockenhurst to the little village of Bank is particularly pleasant
