We had an issue with heating when we arrived. Having not arrived till 22.30 I was fearing the worst for a cold, cold night. The owner however came straight out to us and rectified the problem immediately. He could not do enough for us and his customer service was second to none. Very pleased.

The track to the accommodation has so many deep potholes 100s of them which are unavoidable. Not good for the car. The frying pan had a layer of white fat in the bottom, clearly put away without being washed, not a problem though just washed it :)

Whilst the cottage wasn't dirty, it could definitely have been cleaned to a higher standard. This is something I have raised with the host who has said she will speak to the cleaner about it.

Potholes in the access road made it very difficult to access the property. The "wildlife" experience was so muddy that we struggled to get along the path. The direction sign at the pond was lying in the mud. I felt the owner should have put a sign up at the entrance to the walk to explain that due to adverse weather, the walk was impassable. Our microwave was not working. When I told the owner about this he was rude and told me it was brand new. When it was checked, it was found to be plugged into an electric socket that wasn't working. Was that even safe? The property was superficially clean but the light fittings were thick with dust. The property was very cold for several hours after we arrived until the underfloor heating had warmed up. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable.

The long lane leading to lodges was terrible, lots of massive holes which at times has the suspension scraping on the ground even though we took very very slowly. Although quite new I wouldn't call the lodge comfortable the sofas were too small to relax on. The heating was ok but not cosey. We feel the wild life side of things need not really meet expectations, but it was February so that may be unfair.
Very clean good kitchen and and bathroom facilities. Although no cork screw.
