Experience World-class Service at Glen Nevis Youth Hostel

Located at the foot of Ben Nevis, the long-established Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is just 3 miles from the large town of Fort William. It offers easy access to high and low-level walks, mountain biking, kayaking and other adventure sports.

The hostel offers both private rooms and beds in shared dormitories. Each has access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests are also welcome to relax in the shared lounge area and make use of a communal kitchen.

Glen Nevis Youth Hostel offers both continental and full, cooked breakfast options, packed lunches and evening meals. Snacks, alcoholic and soft drinks are available at reception.

The Ben Nevis Distillery is just 20 minutes’ drive from the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel and the Clan Cameron Museum is a 10-minute drive away. The surrounding area is ideal for canyoning and quad biking.

  • Are sheets and towels included?

    All bedding you could require is provided and towels are provided free of charge in the private rooms. If you are staying in one of our shared rooms you can either bring your own towel or hire one from reception for £3.00

  • Hi, I can see that only quadruple room is available and I would like to book a room only for 2 people. Does it mean it will be only for me if I'll book it?

  • Hi, we are travellers who don't have a car. How do we get from Fort William bus station to this hostel? Is there taxi service available ie. uber around? Thanks in advance!

  • Hi, we are planning on arriving in Fort William in the morning but can only check in to the hostel after 3.30pm - would we be able to leave our cycles somewhere secure so we could perhaps climb Ben Nevis during the daytime? Many thanks, Tim

  • apologies are there any rooms suitable for 3 people with private facilities on the ground floor I am travelling with my elderly parents

    Hello, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by south side trail. However the trail that goes to Ben Nevis is just across the road if that is the trail you mean

    I'm sorry, we do not accept dogs in the guest rooms at this hostel. There are other hostels in the Hostelling Scotland network that are more dog friendly.

The fine print

Full payment for all bookings will be charged at the time of booking. All major credit & debit cards are accepted excluding American Express.

All bookings will include a temporary membership fee per person per night. (Full, existing members of Hosteling Scotland and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund).

Individual reservations (Up to 9 people) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date. If canceled within the 7 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged.

Groups reservations (more than 9 people) - different policies and additional supplements will apply. More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost.

No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel.

Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hosteling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancellation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used.

From the age of 12 to 15 years, young people must be accompanied by a parent or guardian of the same gender when booking a bed within shared accommodations (Please note that due to demand at this location shared accommodations can be unisex). Parties with young children (under 5 years) will only be accommodated in private rooms, where available

Hosteling Scotland advise that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when traveling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodations is available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots.

Check-in from 17.00 until 22.00 and check-out from 08.00 until 10.00.
