  • Hi. Just checking with various accommodation around current restrictions. We are looking for 2 rooms on 30th/31st October. Two are in the same bubble, the other one needs a single room. We are from teesside, this travel is within government guidelines. Are you okay with this? Thanks, Mick

  • dear sir/madam we was looking at booking for 2 nights 28th August for me wife and our older son just asking is there a car park near by if yours full

    Thank you for your question. Yes there is a public pay and display car park just round the corner from us, the entrance is around 100 yards from our property. It is possible to obtain reduced parking fees from the tourist information centre in town.

    Thank you for your question. If all of my parking spaces are taken (I have 3 spaces and 5 rooms) there is a pay and display car park round the corner from the house. Parking on our road is also free if you are able to get a space.

    Check in is 2-6pm. However, by prior arrangement only, I will agree alternative times for check in. It is dependant on the previous occupancy and whether the room would be ready, especially with extra cleaning for Covid reasons. Thank you

    Cancellation is free If cancelled at least 48 hours before the date of check in. The account used to book is ‘pre-authorised’ prior to check in and would be refunded If you cancel within the free cancellation period.

    I do have parking, which is free - However, I only have 3 spaces and 5 rooms, so cannot guarantee a space for guests. It depends on how many guests are staying. Parking is on a first come first parked basis.

  • Do you have ground floor rooms at all as husband can’t do stairs?

    We have one ground floor room which has twin beds and a full bathroom with shower over. It is worth noting that there are four steps outside at the entrance to the house.

  • MUST TAKE DOG

    We only accept dogs by prior telephone agreement before making a booking. We only have one room which accepts dogs.

  • Hi. Looking to book 2 nights 15th - 17th Sept. Only 1 coming up available says private bathroom. Is this not en suite? Thank you.

    I’m sorry, I don’t appear to have any availability for those dates. For future reference, all my rooms are En-suite except the single room, which has a shower room across the landing and is for the private use of the single room only.

The Glenora is a late 1800’s building which still has many of its main features such as pitched pine flooring and stained glass in the entrance, high ceilings with coving, and ornate fireplaces. All our rooms have been repainted since October 2017 and new carpet to the breakfast room and staircase. It has a beautiful south facing garden where you are welcome to sit and relax.

Julia has worked in a public facing role for over 30 years. We both enjoy meeting people and travelling. We have 2 grown up children and our black Labrador dog is called Max.

There are many things to do in Whitby a 2 minute walk to the large local museum & the leisure centre , 5 minute walk to the nearest shops, bars, restaurants & seafront. We have a bus stop right outside the house from which you can get to some of the other local villages or as far as Middlesbrough on a direct bus. Also, the Whitby town tour open top bus stops here too! Whale watching and fishing trips are available from our harbour and the steam train from Whitby to Pickering line is very popular. If you’re feeling brave, why not do one of the Whitby Ghost walks?!
