Excellent location in the heart of Glenridding. Building is historic and thus has some quirks but the room was very large, everything was clean, and I enjoyed me stay there.

I stayed here 25 years ago and a lot has changed since then. Fantastic place with friendly staff.. beds were comfortable and the kids loved the swimming pool and also the 9ft snooker table.

Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location. Excellent room and great breakfast. Nice downstairs bar.

Stayed with my 4 year old daughter whilst I’m 36 weeks pregnant and we had the most amazing time. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the car park is very useful. The highlight of our stay is definitely the swimming pool and the location is incredible. A very short walk to the nearest shop and around 2 minutes walk to the Ullswater steamers where you can get the aira force shuttle or steamers to Pooley Bridge etc. We will definitely be staying again as soon as we can!

Plenty to eat in full cooked breakfast. The room was good size and very comfortable, The location was perfect and was why we chose hotel ,

swimming pool, location. great breakfast and great staff.

Nice old hotel with lots of character in a great position on the banks of Ullswater and near some spectacular scenery. As with all hotels at the moment there is a problem with not enough staff. However, the staff that were there were friendly and energetic and could not be faulted. Especial mention for Victor who seemed to run the breakfast restaurant on his own and was a really delightful character and for the lady who cleaned and refreshed the rooms who seemed to do the whole hotel on her own but was always smiling and helpful. It is a great pity that the hotel management seem intent on removing the (very nice) swimming pool - a very short sighted policy.

Excellent location. Helpful & friendly staff. Good breakfast.

looked like it had updated with decor furnishings

A warm welcome from Carly who is exceptional in every department of the hotel, always there to help , as was James who also deseves a mention. He seems to be able to 'fix' the WIFI!. Both are very capable and able to motivate other members of staff to work and care for guests, always with a smile
