Located by the old market and just spent time in central area. Excellent ambience and some good new development. Pretty lively with all you could want. Good traffic free zone with mix of shops. Some interesting and well thought out decorative and commemorative artwork

I'm absolutely disgusted by the service of this...
I'm absolutely disgusted by the service of this accommodation. They took money out of my account twice after a mistake. I quickly contacted them and they agreed to issue the refund. It has been over 2 months now, and 4 phone calls later after being told it would be sorted, it still isn't sorted. I stayed at this accommodation for my daughter for an exam she had, and this added stress of being told something but not having it actually done was the last thing we both needed.
I have spoken to different people at the racecourse and everytime I've been promised a follow-up and for the situation to be solved, but this has not been the case.
I do NOT recommend this accommodation at all, purely due to the lack of respect they have for their customers. Leaving customers in the dark and misleading them every time is not how a business should operate, and I have had no choice but to resorting to writing this review.
Large bright fresh modern room. Large bath room with bath & walk in shower. Spotless clean. I LOVE the art Deco features everywhere. Hotel front, Lobby, bar, restaurant and ballroom are striking. Great service. All staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was good quality, generous and good variety of options. We also had dinner, standard pub type menu with plenty of popular options, cooked and presented nicely. Hotel is centrally located. Close to racecourse, town centre and a short easy drive to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
The Plough Inn is a perfect stop if you are going to be in Doncaster or the surrounding area. The rooms are totally great for the price. Our family of 3 slept there and had a great night. But, the room is not what we found to be the best thing. The food at the pub downstairs was HANDS DOWN the best we had in all of England. The staff, the locals, and the people were the highlight of our trip. If you get a chance to visit in the evening, do not hesitate to order. It was absolutely delicious and the people were delightful!
Room was huge. Air-source heating was really good. Breakfast comprehensive and porridge cooked at request was delicious. Reception staff really helpful. We wanted to visit Doncaster town centre and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which made it very easy. There is also a Park and Ride a mile further on but it didn't look much used.
Evening meal was good. Ample parking. Lovely gardens and good local footpaths at the right time of year.
We have stayed in dozens of guest houses over the years and this was by far the best one we have stayed in. The owner Tracy was extremely friendly. The location was fab, 10 minute walk to the racecourse and only £3.50 in a taxi coming back from the town centre on the night time.
The room was lovely and bed very comfortable.
The breakfast was very tasty.
We will certainly be staying here again when we next visit Doncaster.
Cosy apartment with all the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. We spent 3 nights at the apartment during our visit to Doncaster. It is well located with easy access to restaurants, superstores and the town centre. The kitchen was stocked with tea/coffee/sugar and fresh milk on arrival which was great to get started in the morning. Elizabeth was kind enough to allow an extension with the checkout as well.
The location of the hotel was really ideal for us as we were stopping at a half way point of our journey. It would possibly not have been a location we would otherwise have chosen. Our room was excellent and it was a shame we were only staying one night! It was a luxury to have two restaurants to choose between and we both enjoyed our meal.
The staff at this hotel were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
We liked the open plan layout of the reception/bar area which has a view across Doncaster racecourse.
The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked.
Our room had plenty of space and, despite overlooking the main road outside, was nice and quiet.
Reception staff - efficient, friendly with smooth quick check in and check out. Room was small but comfy. Excellent value for money. Reception areas clean fresh and well maintained. Bar was cosy with a large screen TV, again staff friendly - quick food service. Food was piping hot, tasty and large portions.
Location was great, 10 min walk to city centre.
Hotel itself is lovely, I paid I think £63/£68 for a Saturday night, I did t think the price was bad at all!! And especially for the hotel!! It’s lovely. Room was a good size, nice shower, good facilities in the room (hair dryer, kettle, tv, a telephone!!)
Room was clean had decent towels staff were friendly and helpful was more like a motel than hotel parked your car outside your room direct access to your room. Very handy for the shopping centre and central doncaster
Reception staff were helpful and polite and breakfast was very good. Although the hotel was slightly out of the town centre it had lots of ammenities near by and was easy to get to.
The room was a generous size, and No 56 has a newer carpet, than 53 where I stayed previously. Quiet areas to read and relax are to found in the hotel. Good facilites all round.
