This property is exceptional! We have spent many year’s holidaying in cottages in this country and Europe, this one is up with the best. The hosts are particularly lovely and genuinely can’t do enough to ensure you have everything you need for a most comfortable stay.

United KingdomVery tastefully decorated to a high spec, everything was well thought through (little things like dishwasher tabs, washing tabs, milk, tea ... essentials for cooking, beach towels, shampoo), all kitchen we needed was there - just straight into our holiday the patio gave us lovely views, we just felt really pampered, just the right hideaway in Cornwall away from the hustle Warm welcome (card and a cake!!!), Lovely owner

Welcome packs for our dogs was a lovely touch and a birthday cake for me. They even supplied towels for the dogs and who were also allowed to go upstairs. We have not experienced that previously in any dog friendly cottage. Would highly recommend this property and hope to visit again.

The hosts have thought about everything right down to torches by the front door. Portloe is stunning and a great location to explore the surrounding area. We would 100% return.

United KingdomWhat a stunning location, it’s hard to find a more perfect little town than Portloe, and then to find the perfect little cottage that is Gull’s Perch. We were blown away by the attention to detail in the property, it’s clear the hosts have put considerable time and love into the cottage. It’s central to everything Portloe offers and a tranquil location rain, sun or wind, or all three in one day as the case may well be in Cornwall. The wifi was top rate, the kitchen and other utilities were well equipped and a bottle of wine and a hand written note on arrival. We’re already planning our return! Thanks to P&K for everything.

XX BOTH BEDROOMS CAN BE EITHER ONE SUPERKING OR TWO SINGLE BEDS XX Gulls Perch is a Poldark-Era Fisherman’s Cottage near the harbour in the unspoilt picturesque village of Portloe. It was originally built as two cottages c1795. With low beams downstairs and a working fireplace (with log burner ), we have retained the original features of the cottage, but given a contemporary twist featuring a modern shower room with rain forest shower & a new cottage style kitchen. The cottage is warm and cosy with modern electric heating. - Freesat TV, Free Wi-fi -Dishwasher, washing machine & Dryer, Microwave, Toaster, Oven and Fridge Freezer. Our cottage is near the harbour and has an outside patio with sea views. There is plenty of room for kayaks and bikes behind the cottage. Parking is available behind the pub car park for free or in Portloe car park. The cottage is gated and safe for dogs to wander round. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Probably not suitable for children under 5. We do all our own cleaning and ensure everything is in top condition prior to each arrival. Peter lives in Portloe and is on hand to help. Happy to provide recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. All change overs are done in house which allows us to spot any touch ups that may need doing. Kelvin recently retired as a travel agent after 21 years. Travelling the world, staying in various types of accommodation has given us a pretty good idea of what constitutes a great cottage getaway. We are fussy travellers and Gulls Perch was put together to ensure we would be happy staying there. It is now our turn to look after our own guests. We set ourselves high standards and look forward to welcoming you to our Cornish gem.
Gulls Perch is close to the harbour in the picturesque village of Portloe. It is still a working fishing village with boats going out daily to catch crab and lobster. With beautiful cottages, The Ship Inn traditional pub and The Lugger Hotel it’s easy to see why many call this the gem of The Roseland. Sir John Betjeman describes Portloe as “one of the least spoiled and impressive of Cornish fishing villages”. Portloe is a great base to explore The Roseland and indeed the whole of Cornwall. Our nearest villages are Portscatho and St Mawes. Our local dog friendly beach, Carne & Pendower, is minutes away. There are many excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. These include Idle Rocks and Tresanton in St Mawes and Michelin star Driftwood at Rosevine. We are also 20 minutes away from The Hidden Hut. Padstow, Port Isaac, Mevagissey, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Helligan are all reachable within an hour. Truro, Cornwall’s only city is 25 minutes away. Portloe is a great base should you wish to walk the Coastal Path. Nearest train stations are Truro and St.Austell and Newquay airport is 45 minutes drive away and offers car hire.
