The location was great for us as we were going to Chepstow racecourse on the Saturday, only 12 minutes taxi ride and the taxi firm were fab on time and very friendly. We would definitely recommend it.

Woolaston is a small village set in magnificent surroundings. We stayed at Edge Barn, a mile or two across the fields from Woolaston. Had an excellent meal in the local pub, the Rising Sun. Apart from access from teh A48, all the roads leading to Woolaston are narrow contry roads with hedgerows on either side passing through forest or farmland. Loevely walking country with plenty of public foot paths.
You need a car to make the most of your visit. We drove to Tintern Abbey and to the forest of Dean, both of which are well worth seeing.

Very rural location, which is what we had in mind for a quiet restful week.
Lots of beautiful scenery and places to explore in the area.
Even the weather didn’t put us off!
The Stables is a cosy nook on a working farm with everything you need for a comfy stay, and the bonus of being able to see the horses so closely!
Two good friendly pubs within walking distance, but don’t forget a torch you’ll need it for walking back down the tiny lanes!
