We loved our weekend in Knaresborough at the Christmas...
We loved our weekend in Knaresborough at the Christmas market and I would certainly recommend anyone to visit. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of privately owned shops which is a bonus these days. A walk along the river is a must with a cafe to pop in for a hot chocolate when it’s chilly!

A beautiful place - so glad we didn't stay in Harrogate, as it is only 4 miles out.
Views from the castle ruin are stunning and shouldn't be missed.
Drive down to the riverside walk too
The fish and chip restaurant in town is very good.
The staff at the Mitre Inn were exceptional. We arrived very late due to the breakdown of my motorcycle but the Manager had stayed late to welcome us and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The next morning, at breakfast we were offered a takeaway lunch for our onward travel and the whole staff team, were supportive, kind and keen to help. I would say that the staff at the Mitre Inn provided the best customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel - 5 stars!!
Got an unexpected complimentary continental breakfast in the hotel consisting of a choice of cereal, fruit, toast, OJ, tea and coffee which was nice. Bed was comfy. Walk-in shower was good. Room a little small but very nice. Floorboards, though nice, do creak when you walk on them if that sort of thing bothers you (not me). Located almost right under the beautiful Knaresborough viaduct. Also had a honesty box for alcohol which was good although we didn't use it.
Well what can we say. This by far the nicest cottage we have stayed in. The location, cleanliness and fittings were fantastic. Whether you are looking for a base to explore Knaresborough as we were or as a base to explore the wider area I would highly recommend Dove Cottage. It is also dog friendly which our Pug cross Jack was very happy about. This is a credit to the owners. Thank you for a lovely break.
The property was located centrally in town, and close to the rail and bus station.
Having a good sized lounge area made a difference in living space for my longer stay.
The apartment also had a great waterfall shower and basic, but sufficient kitchen facilities.
Milk, Bread and butter provided when I arrived was also appreciated
i only stayed for the one night and had an evening meal which was nice and then breakfast in the morning and again was good. i didn't stay in the main hotel my room was situated at the rear of the hotel which i actually preferred. the room was really nice and clean and will definitely be staying again when I'm working in the area.
The home had everything you needed. Excellent location for going into Knaresborough. Shopping centre nearby for food etc. Lovely walk down to the river with cafe and also great clubhouse for food. Near to Harrogate and all other attractions of Yorkshire.
The location is in a pleasant village of Ferensby and there is plenty of car parking the service at the Hotel is friendly and helpful.
The breakfasts are excellent and altogether a place I would certainly go back to
Location is perfect for visiting knaresborough and surrounding area. Caravan site was lovely and quiet on a night even on a busy summer weekend. The fan in the Caravan was great in this heatwave! :)
The hotel is beautiful with lovely friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend the taster menu, it was absolutely delicious!
Great location, close to Knaresborough, Wetherby and Harrogate.
central to riverside and town centre of knaresborough, a comfortable small cottage with all amenities needed for a perfect short stay with free parking a few minutes walk away.
The property was close to the station and in the town centre. The bed was comfortable. It was a reasonably priced stay to enjoy exploring Knaresborough and the local area.
