The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centers. Well-known for its M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it's also a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.
Most city center hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping center, and behind that is Digbeth Bus Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.
The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Center) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.
Just across the street is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modeled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.
The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top soccer clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

Since building the tram ways into Birmingham is has made it safe for pedestrians but taken away the vibe the buzz of socialising and pushed it into down town Birmingham where the train station is. Watch your pockets get drained by over pricing your pocket, we were over charged for a meal by £30 they blamed it on the technology they were using.

Fantastic compact City, with everything you would need for a short stay. It was so easy to navigate and the bars, restaurants and hotel we experienced were top notch.
The canal area with it's lively restaurants is a real buzz, if you like that!
We came from Ireland and it really was a hop and a skip to get right to the centre of the City from our own doorstep.
I would highly recommend Birmingham for a visit if you like shopping, restaurants and very friendly people. We will be back!

Extremely impressed by Birmingham and ideal for a short break. The canal, Westside area has been completely redeveloped. There are many restaurants, theatres, a concert hall and arena all around the canal area. It’s all beautifully clean, modern with lots to see and do. It’s only a short walk to the Bull Ring offering a great selection of shops and places to eat. Central Birmingham has been reinvented over the last decade! Well worth a visit.

Was at a show in the NEC so didn't see much of Birmingham.
Was at a show in the NEC so didn't see much of Birmingham. Ate in the Pushkar Cocktail bar and some drinks in Qavali whisky bar and they were first class. Walked from hotel to train station (10mins) and the part of the city we walked through had some amazing buildings/featuers and would go back to explore.

Went for a long weekend.
Went for a long weekend. I’ve travelled to the uk many times. My first time in Birmingham and it was by far my favourite trip over. There is so much to do there that we didn’t even get to do it all in one weekend, we were so busy the whole time we were there doing activities and the bars and restaurants are another level compared to any of the other cities I’ve been to in the uk.
Loved the fact that the room is exactly how it stated on the pictures. So was not disappointed at all, well beyond my expectations.
The bed and pillows are so comfortable to sleep on, had the best sleep at the hotel.
The staff are friendly, approachable and willing to help.
The hotel is very close to the city centre about 15mins walk
Loved that the room are sound proof so you cannot hear other travelers in your room. I will definitely book this hotel again if am ever in Birmingham
In a great location on Broad street in Birmingham city centre. There is parking behind the hotel and you just drive into the multi storey letting staff know you have a vehicle with you on check in. Amazingly clean, the lobby was secure, the staff were very welcoming and the rooms were furnished to a great standard. Breakfast was a good standard and just a beautiful hotel all around!
Really good hotel for the city centre of Birmingham. We parked at the Mailbox and it was an easy 5 minute walk. The floor we stayed on was really quiet which was excellent. Lifts are fast and frequent. Breakfast was fine with a reasonable selection. The eating area was busy but they do provide information on the busiest times and there were lots of staff about to help also.
The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent, 10mins drive to sea life and Lego discovery, 9minutes drive to the city centre and 10minutes drive to Birmingham wildlife conservation park. 16 minutes drive to Cadbury world.
The hotel doesn’t have a car park but there was a car park right behind it which was £6 per day. The room and the hotel was very clean
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the room exceeded our expectations — it was beautiful and very comfortable. The Grand is a lovely, stylish hotel in the middle of Birmingham. Perfect location for arts and cultural events as well as sight seeing. I would book again and highly recommend to others.
Property was right located in great place where near to City centre of Birmingham.
The receptionist was friendly, good customer service and the room keeper was doing their job well during my 3 night stay to keep my room in clean.
Thank to you all! I was enjoyable during my visit stayed.
Highly recommended Hotel…!
Situated Birmingham city centre. Park overnight for a £5 fee ‘validated by hotel’ 200 yards down the road ‘Moor Street car park’
Paid £64 for the superior 1 bed apartment. Fold up bed in separate lounge with kitchen. Incredible price, very clean and comfortable bed.
Cannot rate this property highly enough.
Check in and out was quick and easy. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely bar area with relaxing seating. Didn't actually eat at the hotel so unable to comment on food available. Ideally situated for Symphony Hall, easy 5 minute walk, with plenty of places to eat nearby.
Breakfast was very good, selection and quality . Staff were excellent, good advice on traveling using public transport to get in and out of the city centre. really appreciated being able to leave the car in the hotel whilst we went to the open day at Birmingham University.
Not very much. The hotel is in a good location as far as the centre of Birmingham goes. The bar area is decent although we didn't use it. It's walkable into the centre if you don't mind a 15 to 20 minute stroll. That's about all of the positives I can share.
The riverside walk is lovely and a great shortcut to the city centre. We left the car at the hotel and went for food and drinks. The taxi back was about £6. Perfect for a short stay in Birmingham.
The coffee bar is lovely, modern design and great staff.
The room was a good size, comfortable and the shower was very good! The breakfast was okay but quite basic. The location of the Hotel is perfect for exploring Birmingham and a short walk to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is situated in the centre of Brum, very close to the main train station, and with large range of shops nearby. The actual room is almost the size of a studio flat, with a kitchen and spacious bathroom.
One of my best hotels in Birmingham when I travel for work. Always stay here and have stayed for 3 times already now. Food, Location, Price, and Comfort- all top notch.
The location is purfect if you come to Birmingham by bus. There are grocery stores nearby and the shopping mall is not far away. The staff is very friendly.
