United States of AmericaThe warm welcome from Nicky on arrival and the fire in the lounge was a great start to our stay. The room was clean with all facilities and a very comfortable bed to help a good nights sleep. Breakfast was fantastic, absolutely delicious homemade fruit salad followed by a full vege English. Nothing was too much trouble and Nicky even gave us egg in bun for our early morning start on the last day. A very relaxing break and will be back. Thank you Nicky

The new owner was incredibly welcoming and professional and clearly has ambitions to take the B&B to the next level. That said the accommodation was very comfortable and well presented during our visit. The breakfast menu is perfect with probably the best full english I have personally experienced with sensible portions of good quality produce.

United KingdomWe loved everything about the property and the location. Mine hosts were wonderful and couldn’t do enough fir our stay. The bedroom was perfect with a huge on suite also the breakfast room was well spaced out and breakfast selection was very good and cooked to order. There was a bar area very comfy but at the time of our visit not open but we were welcome to use the area with our own purchase. There was an accessible garden area with chairs tables and benches which we were able to use at leisure. Great location to visit local towns and not too far for Paignton, or other English Riviera and Plymouth. Would recommend 10/10

Harrabeer dates back to 1680 with Victorian "extension". Thought to be a Devon long house. Certainly strong evidence since stripping back the bar area exposing original fire place and beams. Arrive around tea time: get a cuppa and mini cream tea! This summer we have had new roofs on the old part of the building - gone are the mix and match 1970's concrete tiles! Maintenance and decoration of rooms are rather like the Forth Bridge - ongoing! If you like modern,minimalist and impersonal we are not for you! However if you like a bit of Old England, a warm welcome and good old fashioned hospitality then read on!!
Michael and Amanda have been welcoming people to the Harrabeer since June 2001 and are passionate about the beautiful and diverse Dartmoor area and their home. We have one lady cleaner, Kirsty, who is invaluable!
There are so many things to do around here! Lots of sports - cycling, riding, golf, rock climbing, sailing, surfing, shooting, paintballing, go-carting, tree walks - you name it and we can probably find it for you!! Then there are our wonderful heritage sites - National Trust properties in abundance. The closest is Buckland Abbey but close by are, Cotehele, Saltram, Overbecks. The renowned Eden Project and Helegan Gardens are only an hour or so away and many other beautiful gardens to visit... Plus, of course, animal sanctuaries etc and adventure parks!
