Disabled travellers need to be sure they get a room with appropriate facilities. Acknowledging a request is not good enough. The exact nature of bathroom accessibility should be clear - e.g. whether space for a wheelchair for transfer to shower seat and WC; Position of grab rails and drop-down handrails.

I booked this hotel because my sister uses a wheelchair and we were visiting crufts at the NEC therefore we wanted to be as close to it as possible. when they built the hotel they had no consideration for people in wheelchairs making the journey from the hotel to the nearby beautiful lake and on around to the NEC center.

Whilst i believe the hotel is being renovated, the carpets in the bedroom were filthy. Looked like workmen had been in there with their dirty boots. Breakfast was terrible, Did not have no choice, we were asked what we wanted. When it arrived the sausage and bacon were under cooked.
Would not stay here again.

Terrible room.
Terrible room. The shower was separate to the toilet and there was nowhere to dry yourself in the shower. Consequently my partner slipped and fell, resulting in a massive bruise. No mats provided.
I will not be returning.

To be honest we didn't really see anywhere outside the hotel as the only time we ventured outside was to check the walking distance to the airport - about 7 minutes, although the doors of the lift and of the stairs to the railway station/monorail to the airport could have had signs on them telling us where they went to. For a first time visitor it wasn't absolutely clear. The area between the hotel and the railway station and the hotel is pretty much industrial so hardly a tourist hotspot!
Excellent location for the World Resorts Arena and Birmingham International Airport/train station ... ten minutes walk from the hotel rear (taxi back from WRA cost £12 around at 10.30 p.m). Great, friendly and very helpful staff. Unfortunately we weren't staying long enough to enjoy the pool, restaurant and bar. Booked a family room but only 2 guests, very spacious, well equipped, large tv and extremely clean. Can't wait to stay again for longer x
Me and my boyfriend booked to come here for a one night stay, we enjoyed the hotel & staff that much we booked for an next night (it was a bank holiday) the staff are lovely & friendly, John the night manger helped us out with booking us an extra night stay. The staff go above and beyond there duties to ensure the customers are happy and enjoy there stay here. Rachel the bar manager makes the best cocktails iv had in a long time.
Location: We have stayed here before when visiting the NEC or flying from Birmingham Airport. Its the perfect location. As part of the Resorts World the Genting Hotel offers everything. Food options are plentiful and the bars / restaurant are great.
Staff: Always happy to assist, friendly and attentive.
Breakfast: Good Quality and extensive buffet style breakfast with something for everyone...
All I was looking for was a hotel close to Birmingham International Airport so I could get my very early flight the next morning without the hassle of trains & taxis ..and I got all of that with my Ibis room. When I arrived, the Reception staff were lovely and friendly & went out of their way to be helpful. The room was everything I needed, a bed, a shower & a short walk to the airport!
My first impression was of the grounds of the hotel. Beautifully looked after, perfectly manicured lawns, lovely flower displays, clean gravel with no weeds and inside lived up to first impression. Spotless, light and airy. The staff in all areas, reception, restaurant, and bars were polite and helpful. They all looked happy in their work.
Located close to Birmingham Airport and the NEC it was very convenient to go into Birmingham by car. Breakfast was good. Showers were also good in the rooms. There is parking but not free which I thought it was. Its good value for money compared to many hotels in Birmingham.
My partner and I were visiting 'The Resorts World' Arena. This hotel was a 10 minute walk.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, lovely food, good choice at breakfast, well priced.
Would definitely recommend.
Perfect for, NEC, Resorts World, Birmingham Airport.
I like that the pub next door does amazing hot food. The hotel does a hot lovely breakfast in the morning with plenty to go around and seating. The customer service from the staff is outstanding.
Great hotel and location at Birmingham Airport. Staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable. Food was really good although they do not cater for people who are gluten intolerant.
The hotel was so convenient to the airport, lovely staff, great room, very comfortable bed and great value for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Birmingham
the staff were friendly and helpful and facilities were good. the location is 5 minutes from Birmingham Airport
