What a joy it was to stay at High Dalby House. Lynn and Ian are lovely welcoming hosts, sharing their beautiful home and grounds. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast delicious. We enjoyed walking through the peaceful grounds and labyrinth. There is also a short hike to the Fox & Rabbit pub (a bit steep in places so you'll need your walking boots). Set in the Dalby forest so there is plenty to do and a scenic drive to Whitby. We will definitely be booking to stay again with Ian and Lynn.

A warm welcome from Ian, Linda and their friendly dog Ossie. The location and the gardens provided a calming and peaceful environment to relax, loved the access to the Chapel and Labyrinth. Lovely walks by the beck. Outstanding room?with home from home lounges. The breakfast service was first rate. Highly recommended , we hope to return. R&G

  • hi, do you have any twin rooms or are they all doubles please?

    I'mafraid all our rooms have either double or king sized beds. However 3 of the rooms have sufficient space for us to be able to add a temporary bed should that be required

    Hi. There are several ways to book all include breakfast from our made to order menu. start with cereals, hams, cheeses, fruit, then follows with a range of cooked options including full English, pancakes, eggs Benedict etc plus tea/coffee and toast

  • How far from whitby

    its about a40 minute drive at 22 miles. in the past people have stayed here to attend each day of the steam punk weekend. Also accessible by train or bus

  • Is there anywhere to store our cycles?

    Hi Yes we have a secure cycle store with racks, a small maintenance stand and basic maintenance equipment as well as hose and pressure washer for cleaning off the bike

  • Hi, I'd like to book a few days away in this hotel as a solo traveller for leisure. Am I allowed to book for leisure under current government guidelines? I work at home and have only been out for solo exercise and shopping since stipulations were put in place.

    Unfortunately we are not allowed to accept guests for holiday and leisure visits at present. New can only take guests travelling for business. We are awaiting government details to know when we can begin to accept guests for other reasons

  • Looking for accomodation on Saturday 15th Feb for one night, must be dog friendly

  • We are visiting on the 10/11 August, are there any local pubs with food nearby that you can recommend.

    There are several pubs serving good food within a 20 minute drive I'll list some starting from the closest Fox and Rabbit, Horseshoe )Levisham), New Inn, the Buck (Thornton Le Dale), White Swan, Black Swan (Pickering) Cayley Arms (Ebberston)

    In short no. We provide you with an exit code to use during your stay and that gives freedom to come and go. our web site gives more detail.

  • My wife has difficulty with stairs, do you have ground floor accomodation or a lift ?.

    Whitby is our ground floor room. There are 6 steps down to the main entrance but ground level access can be obtained using the garden entrance- step

  • i have booked for 2 nights from 20th august. we shall be bringing our lovely dog Gypsy with us, also do you cater for other meals such as evening meal??

    No problem with the dog, we do ask for £10 per dog to cover extra cleaning costs. We are not able to provide evening meals
