Nice clean accommodation and well equipped (extra towels, toilet paper, little bits and bobs in the kitchen to get you going in case you forgot something). A nice welcome by a really friendly owner. Great location for those who seek escape and don't mind driving around to visit places. Beautiful views. A nice little grassy area where we played a bit of football. There are a couple of swings, too. Makes it great for kids. I would imagine it would be lovely to have a bbq out there in summer. Would recommend Swan with two necks in Pendleton for a meal.

The location was excellent for us , a lot of people would find it too remote, it suited us fine. The hosted were perfect and showed us the house and treasures, there son the farm was very helpful in explaining how thehill farm worked.

The location was stunning. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Seeing badgers from the hide was amazing. The facilities were brilliant have everything you need and more. The garden is wonderful for children. Freda had toys for our 4 year old Son to play with. The sunsets were beautiful sat out in the evenings. Great place as a base for exploring. Would like to return when children older to do some longer walks. Highly recommend and top value for money. Thank you Higher Gills Farm.

    We only accept aa dog in the Lower Laithe apartment, which is a self contained apartment.

  • I am partially disabled and prefer few stairs. Are your apartments suitable?

    The Lower Laithe is wheel chair friendly, with no internal steps or stairs. There is a small step at the entrance door & patio doors but we have removeable ramps for wheel chairs when required. There is a 12 inch step into the shower tray.

  • hi. do you allow dogs

    In the Lower Laithe apartment, we will accept a well behaved dog by arrangement, a fee for the dog will be charged. The dog is not allowed in the bedrooms We do not accept a dog in the Granary apartment

  • Hello I am looking at booking both apartments for 15-19th April. If we book and are not allowed to travel due to covid restrictions are we able to cancel for free?

A stable converted in 1997 into 2 self catering apartments the Lower Laithe is all ground floor, which is wheel chair friendly. Each apartment has a kitchen lounge, bathroom with shower, 2 Bedrooms 1 double & 1 twin. Ideal for upto 4 adults or a family with children. extra fold up beds are available & cots. There is now an outside shared utility with sink, washing machine & dryer, also storage & drying facility for outside clothing. There is a large shared patio & lawn with swings & a slide All rooms have central heating. New Policy for Lower Laithe only We now take a well behaved dog, in the Lower by arrangement Ideal for walking & visiting yorkshire dales, Part of the Forest of Bowland ANOB & only 1 hour from Lake district. Outstanding panoramic views of the Bowland fells & wonderful sunsets. Rates quoted are per 7 day booking. Short breaks by arrangement

We are retired farmers still living on the farm, which is run by our son & his family. We have a keen interest in crafts & run a small wool business selling speciality sheep fleece all over the world & yarn produuced from lustre wool produced by Teeswater & Wensleydale sheep. Freda is a member of the Bowland spinners, weavers & dyers guild.

Our farm is in a beautiful rural setting with no passing traffic, with lots of wild life & birds. The Ribble Valley is livestock area mainly cattle & sheep, so there are lots of green fields & trees, there are very few arable fields growing crops.
