Our 2 cabins are located in our own grounds and are situated within 10 minuets walk from the centre of the village of Fort Augustus which is found at the West end of Loch Ness. Both of our cabins look south over the glen, they each have their own car parking adjacent to the cabin. Located Ideally for couples who's main aim is to use as a base to explore Loch ness, the great glen and surrounding highlands. A car is recommended for venturing out for the day and we are only a 50 minuets drive to the Isle of Skye. The cabins have their own kitchenette equipped with crockery, microwave, toaster, fridge, George Forman Grill and slow cooker, a BBQ is also available for each cabin. All Linen, bedding and towels are supplied along with soaps, toilet and kitchen rolls. We also supply complimentary tea and coffee for your arrival in each cabin with a selection of homemade cakes and biscuits. Each cabin has its own modern ensuite shower room facilities, flat screen TV's with freesat channels and are located in each of the cabins bedrooms along with super king sized beds. The village has numerous establishments for dining out and Information for these can be found in the cabin guest information books.
We strive to make our guests stay as enjoyable as possible and take great pride in our two cabins. We greet all our guests personally and answer any questions you may have about the cabin and local area. Advice can be given if required for must do locations to visit Including routes and most Important of all those locations that tend to be bypassed by the majority of visitors. The Highlands are one of the top must do locations In the world when It comes to photography, and our base In fort Augustus is a superb central location to venture out for days out with the equipment. Phil's love for photography has taken him to just about every corner of the highlands and Is always happy to share that knowledge which he has accumulated over the years. Sue's baking is highly recommended and although not good for the waist lines.... well you are on holiday! Sue always strives to have ready sample's of her baking for guests in each cabin upon arrival.
Fort Augustus situated on the most southern tip of Loch Ness on the Great Glen Way, this historic hamlet is a popular tourist destination. Lying on the impressive 60 mile long Caledonian Canal, halfway between Inverness and Fort William, Fort Augustus offers spectacular views down Loch Ness and is a paradise for keen walkers and cyclists with many beautiful walks around the area, the most popular being the Great Glen Way. At Fort Augustus visitors can also enjoy a visit to the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre which details the history of the canal. Sit and watch the boats navigating the locks or explore the Clansmen Centre, where appropriately attired guides demonstrate 17th century clan weaponry. Guests can explore the surrounding countryside by cruising Loch Ness, home to the world-famous Loch Ness monster, or take a trip to nearby Urquhart Castle, a classic romantic ruin jutting out into the loch. Both Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, and Fort William, ‘the Outdoor Capital of the UK’, are less than an hour’s drive and the famous Eilean Donan Castle, reputedly the most photographed castle in Scotland, is equally accessible in under an hour’s drive.
