Lovely and clean, cosy and a great place to relax after exploring all day. The bed was very comfy and we had plenty space just the two of us.

Beautiful cottage, had everything you need, clean and tidy throughout. Would definately recommend. Great location with plenty to see within a short driving distance.

United KingdomJust returned from a long weekend break, family of 4 and a dog. Site was really quite and an ideal place to use as a base to visit local landmarks or somewhere to just escape and relax. The owners were very friendly and approachable, nothing seems too much trouble. We had an annoying noise in the room on the easter sunday, this was early evening. I walked round to the office the gentleman walked around with me and the noise which turned out to be the radiator was found and rectified. Great service. Both owners polite and friendly.

United Kingdomit was lovely and quiet. even though the wind was very loud outside as soon as you shut the door there it was totally quiet inside. shower gel, hand soap, towels etc all provided. lovely and clean. Nice and modern. Great heating. Small nice site, clean and garden areas very neat. Although we were in a middle cottage it was very private as there are fences and hedges to make it private. the beds were very comfy and lovely bedding. The bathroom is a wet room so good for people with mobility issues. Thanks very much for a lovely stay x

Kate was very welcoming and helpful. We may be returning in the near future and would definitely recommend.

I would love to book a weekend away at one of your properties and bring along our little dog - she's an escape artist so my question is are any of your properties totally enclosed. Thanks for your time and take careHi there. Two of our properties have enclosed courtyards (Willow and Hawthorn). However, I would not describe them as totally dog proof as the front boundaries are hedges. I have a terrier who would get through the hedge if not tethered.Answered on 20 June 2022

Hillcrest Park is our rural, 6 acre, holiday location in Teesdale, on the border of North Yorkshire and County Durham and we are lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside.
We have seven properties here at Hillcrest Park which are available to book online, but they are all slightly different so please check the descriptions carefully. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.
All are dog friendly, *except for the Bowes Hideaway*. Some have enclosed courtyards, but not all. We accept one dog in the dog friendly properties. We can sometimes consider a second dog, but there will be an additional charge.
Hillcrest Park offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Teesdale – yet is only 10mins from the A66. It is close to Richmond, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall, Raby Castle and an ideal base from which to explore a host of other Dales attractions.
Ed and I have been here at Hillcrest Park since March 2011. It is our home as well as our business and we are usually around to help out, but are equally happy to leave our visitors to enjoy their stay in peace.
We are in a rural location between Richmond and Barnard Castle but are lucky to be close to a variety of great eateries:
- The Brownlow Arms is our friendly local pub a mile and a half away in Caldwell and serves good food;
- The Bridgewater Arms is a mile away in the old school house in Winston with a great menu;
- The Four Alls close by at Ovington won the Camra Country Pub of the Year in 2021;
- The Fox Hole at Piercebridge is a bustling pub with a great choice of food.
There is plenty to see and do in the area: Raby Castle, the Bowes Museum, High Force Waterfall, Beamish Museum, the Locomotion Museum, Hamsterley Forest to name just a few. And in 2022 Kynren returns to Auckland Castle. This spectacular outside show is on for 5 Saturdays between 6 August and 10 September.
Barnard Castle is only a 10min drive away and you will find most of the shops/facilities you need there.
