Our hosts were perfect, the breakfast was super, room and little touches were excellent. Parking pass when the hotel car park was full. Found us a spot in the restaurant, when it was full, by shoehorning a small table near the bar.

Hodgkinsons is a lovely hotel, oldy worldy, with all mod cons, made a nice change from modern samey hotel chains. Couldn't get more central. Hosts were great, v helpful. We arrived on my partners motorbike and we were able to leave our bike stuff pre check in and post check out so we could go and explore, which was really helpful. Breakfast was first class too. Would not hesitate to stay again, thank you 😀

Hodgkinsons Hotel & Restaurant is set in Matlock Bath, just outside the beautiful Peak District National Park. Featuring a secluded roof garden, this charming property offers individually decorated rooms in a Grade-II-listed building.

The property features lovely greenery, as well its own cave and patio area. Interiors feature wooden beams, original fireplaces and embossed wallpaper. The spacious rooms have elegant design and come with free WiFi, heating and a private bathroom. Some rooms look onto the nearby River Derwent.

The property has a cosy traditional bar, while European cuisine prepared with local produce is served in the restaurant.

The Peak District Mining Museum is set next to the hotel. A stroll along the river will lead to Matlock Bath Railway Station and onto Matlock Village, less than 2 miles away. Chesterfield and Derby can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

  • Hello we’ve been looking at booking your hotel for my partners birthday ,, can you get a drink at the bar if your not eating in the restaurant ? Than
    Hello thanks for your message. Our license is for guests who are staying here and people eating. We have a lounge where you can sit and have a drink. We dont really have any area where you can drink at the bar as the bar is in the restaurant area.

    Hello Due to Covid 19 restrictions we only have 3-4 tables per evening so pre-booking is essential if you wish to eat. The restaurant is open for reservations from 6.30 pm-8.30 pm Monday- Saturday and closed Sunday. best regards Zoe & Chris
