Deborah United Kingdom

Lovely touch to leave milk, cereal and cake. Children loved the selection of games and the hot water bottles. Property is central to the village and so everything within easy walking distance, including the brilliant park.

Rachael United Kingdom

Great apartment to access the Peak District and hiking! Very clean, great facilities - but shame about the UK weather 👍

Trudi United Kingdom

The cottage is in a super location. There's a wealth of pubs, shops and other amenities all less than 5 minutes walking distance. With a car you can get to some of the best hiking in the country in under 30 minutes.

Harry Australia

The hosts have a whole folder readily available upon arrival with all the information we could need about the property and nearby facilities and attractions. They also gifted us a complimentary cake and other breakfast items, like tea, coffee and milk. The location is perfect for hikes in the Peak District and next to a village high street with great restaurants and very close supermarket. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and it was very clean and aired when we arrived.

Pau United Kingdom

All of the little touches from the hosts. The cleanliness. The location. It was excellent from start to finish.

Callum United Kingdom

The host was extremely helpful and quick to get back to us with any questions we my have had . The property was great and very central to the bus station and train station . It was very well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay . Enjoyed a lovely curry at the shylet Indian take away and the pride of the peaks pub and staff were also great .

Kristy United Kingdom

Great location, well equipped. Little one loved the hot water bottle

Nicola United Kingdom

Cleanest self catering place I've stayed, warm and cosy. Nice furnishings, everything you could need and some lovely little touches (complimentary bits). Ideal location and super quiet. Parking is close by.

Michelle United Kingdom

Great value for money, comfortable, compact, clean, good facilities, good comms...car park round the corner but not a problem at all and parking permit provided, I'd be happy to stay again...

Built in 1877, Holford House is a traditional cottage, open plan living with a modernised kitchen. The two bedrooms, a double, with King bed and a twin (bunks) share the family shower room. In the heart of New mills, an historic mill town, this cosy cottage on the edge of the Peak District National Park is within walking distance of all amenities and has stunning scenery and magnificent stately homes nearby. Outdoor pursuits abound and Manchester, Buxton and Sheffield are within easy reach by public transport. The cottage provides a warm, cosy open plan living space with a modern kitchen equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washer and all necessary utensils. A comfortable seating area with T.V., D.V.D. player, books, information and board games together with dining table and chairs completes the downstairs. Upstairs a bright landing leads to a double bedroom with king-size bed and wardrobe, a second single bedroom with bunk beds and a family shower room. Heating and hot water is on demand. Fibre unlimited Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property.

Our family has lived in this area for over 40 years and we are on hand to make sure you get the most from your break at Holford House.

Holford House couldn't be more conveniently located with two supermarkets, a renowned artisan bakery, a variety of options for eating and drinking, a very well equipped park and a leisure centre with pool on the doorstep. The Torrs riverside walk where the annual 'Lantern Parade' is held (part of New Mills Festival) is a short walk away. The golf club, in an outstanding setting, is 5 minutes away by car. Nearby Marple, famed for its lock flight, is home to the ever popular, comfy 'picture house' showing new blockbusters at very reasonable prices. What a gem! Buxton has its famous Opera House. The many well dressings throughout the area between May and September are justly worth a visit. The cottage is a practical base for discovering the natural beauty of the Peak District with activities for all ages and all levels of fitness. Walk, climb, cycle, cave, hang- glide or simply relax and enjoy the view! Alternatively visit some of the many historic sites and stately homes in the area including several N.T. properties.
