Situated in a quiet lane near Middleham town centre, Jenny Wren Cottage is a charming one bedroom traditional stone cottage, perfectly placed for visiting the town castle, eateries and shops, and other neighbouring dales towns such as Masham and Leyburn.

Neighborhood info

In the small market town of Middleham, with Pubs and restaurants offering good Yorkshire Fayre and with its own Castle sitting proudly overlooking the town Middleham Castle the childhood home of Richard III, is well worth a visit. Middleham is also famous for its many racing stables, with many walks straight from your door, it is an excellent base for exploring the area. Leyburn, only a few miles away is bustling market town with independent retailers, and eateries. For spectacular views of Wensleydale take a stroll along The Leyburn Shawl where it is said Mary Queen of Scots dropped her shawl whilst escaping from nearby Castle Bolton. Visit Bolton Castle a 14th Century castle that is still privately owned. On the eastern edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. Where there are some stunning waterfalls close by, so be sure to visit the Aysgarth Falls or the highest unbroken waterfall at Hardraw. Head a little further afield you will find the picturesque Bolton Abbey priory ruins on the banks of the river Wharfe, with plentiful space to enjoy a picnic and many walks. The popular market town of Masham is a 15 minute drive and home to some fantastic places to eat, independent shops and two breweries, Theakstons and Black Sheep, you can even take a tour to sample the beer. The beautiful city of Ripon is around a 30 minute drive away. The historic Ripon Cathedral hosts a full calendar of events and th nearby National Trust Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal offers a lovely day out.
