United KingdomGorgeous property, close to everything. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. They provided some nice amenities in the room like tea (proper tea pot and cozy) and cookies and water. There were also slippers and ear plugs etc for comfort. I loved the breakfasts and the breakfast room was so cozy. I adore this hotel!
CanadaThe history and charm of The Judges Lodgings is what first attracted me to it. After staying four nights I can attest to the perfect city center location, cleanliness, helpfulness of staff. We enjoyed our breakfasts and late afternoon wine and nibbles in the courtyard as well as having had a wonderful dinner there one night. It was a perfect experience - and believe me if there was something to complain about I would ;) I will defiantly be booking a room here on my next UK holiday.
United States of AmericaWe actually enjoyed staying in this very old, historic building. The layout was funky but we got used to it, and our room was fairly modern and nice--big enough for us. The bathroom was quite modern and mostly quite nice. However, the shower door installed over the bathtub leaked and we had to adjust things so as not to get the floor wet. We were close to the "action" on Saturday night, but our room fan was perfect and we slept very well on the comfortable bed. We hadn't been told upon check-in that breakfast was included with the room and we made do with the room coffee and tea (I did find that this info was included in our paperwork, but the room had been booked months ago so we forgot). That said, we enjoyed having breakfast the next two days.

Judges Lodging is a small, elegant Grade I listed Georgian townhouse that overlooks York Minster. It features 3 bars and rooms with free Wi-Fi and an iPod dock.
Judges Lodging has luxurious bedrooms with an LCD Freeview TV, a DVD player, and toiletries.
A full English breakfast is included in the room rate, and local suppliers are used where possible. The on site restaurant is a modern British bar and grill.
The building is away from the main crowds, yet just a 5-minute walk from York Train Station and a 2-minute walk from Theater Royal.
The famous Betty's Tearooms is just around the corner from Judges Lodging, close to other eating places.
