Jurassic Cottage is a comfortable and cosy stone cottage situated in the pretty village of Portesham with its nearby pub, farm shop and cafe, and close to the famous Jurassic Coast.

Information correct at the time of writing. The pretty village of Portesham is sheltered beneath Blackdown Hill. The Hardy Monument, a memorial to Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, is a popular viewpoint above the village and provides almost 360 degree views. In nearby Abbotsbury there are a number of visitor attractions such as the Swannery, the Children’s Farm and the award winning Subtropical Gardens. Abbotsbury Swannery provides the unique experience of feeding swans and in May and June admiring the newborn cygnets. At the Children’s Farm little ones can enjoy cuddling guinea pigs, pony riding, goat racing and playing in the pirate ship. To the east is the popular seaside town of Weymouth with its Georgian seafront and 17th century harbour. If you’re bringing the little ones, Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park gives them the chance to be a pirate or a mermaid for the day, while they learn about the magical creatures off the southern coast. The Jurassic Coast is world-famous as one of the best places to find fossils and evidence of the prehistoric past. There are plenty of fascinating finds on display at the Lyme Regis Museum.
