On booking we did not have a problem but in the last few days before arriving I had a knee problem and my husband a back problem on arrival the room was up a flight of stairs the bed far too soft and when sat on it it moved we asked for another room the bed a bit better but the ceiling very bad and windows awful, we felt too uncomfortable to stay as we only found out a few days before arrival that the restaurant and bar were not open and on looking around there were no restaurants or cafe in close proximity and I could not walk any distance, the wallpaper was coming off , so we informed them we were leaving to find a better hotel , the staff were difficult to understand , it needs a lot of work done to it before having guest we could not have a refund but a small amount would have been good

I really like Rugby, friendly people, lots of quality real ale pubs, I have stayed there 2 nights at a time 5 or 6 times now and even in the town centre have yet to meet the type of undesirable person (anti social behaviour) that seem to be more prevalent elsewhere

Give this hotel a try.
Give this hotel a try. They are lovely staff and trying to get it back to normal since covid. It will get better all the time. Don't listen too much to previous reviews as we have stayed before amny times before covid and it was great.

The old buildings associated with the school are very interesting, but much neglected as a tourist destination. Not so much a destination to stay, but a nice alternative if want a change from the motorway services.

We just needed a bed for the night as we were travelling around. All other hotels were booked out or being refurbished so we took the one available. Very tired hotel and not as described. No breakfast available and parking a nightmare. Room however was clean and served it's purpose. I have given a review previously but this is my amended one. No staff at property except of a morning they were pleasant.
Great location in rugby: a quick walk to the train station or the city centre with lots of basics like groceries and takeaway in easy reach. A full kitchen (shared) is provided, with cabinet space allocated for each guest room. The room was very clean and quiet. Bathroom is shared, but is clean and modern and meets the needs. Not a lot of amenities, but everything worked and the television was good. As a basic touch-down pad for a short trip, this property was just what I was looking for.
Small independently owned hotels have had a tough time over the past 18 months and I am not going to do them down when they need all the help they can get. The owners put a lot of effort into making our stay as nice as possible. A couple of things were out of their control but they are trying to get back on their feet. A* for effort and I look forward to staying here again when I next visit Rugby.
Hotel was clean and staff very professional and helpful.
We were in Rugby for a funeral and hotel ordered a taxi to pick us up at 10:30. This didn't turn up. David called a few times and when it still didn't arrive, he went over and above and took us himself. We just made it on time due to his kindness. This is how to encourage people to return. Thank you again David.
Very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Excellent location literary few steps from the train station, opposite to a grocery. Easy to reach the house and apartment via a door code. Very helpful and kind hosts who solved perfectly a little problem I had with a TV. Overall, I can recommend this place to any visitor of Rugby.
very friendly and relaxed. nice pub with rooms. comfortable stay. the wood burning stove is a bonus on cold nights.
friendly local clientele and staff. plenty of other places nearby for eating. whenever we are in that area it is our chosen place to stay.
It's a beautiful building, the room is decent. They have a very nice outdoors area and a small pub inside the hotel too, which adds to the experience on a summer day.
Overall it's allright for a business stay.
I was in a cute, little cosy room with newly decorated bathroom. I loved the lighting of the mirror which was adjustable. Many hotels have bad lighting, which makes applying make-up or grooming more difficult.
Stayed same time last year. Came to meet up with family nearby. Lovely hotel and comfortable
In particular thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on our last visit so didn't hesitate to book again
