An extremely friendly welcome from Paul. Kingsmere is a quality guest house which is clean, well maintained and it is obvious that the proprietors take pride in their property. Breakfast choice was outstanding and extremely tasty, served in a beautiful dining room. The bedroom was extremely comfortable with bathrobes and slippers provided as our bathroom was separate. The location of this property is excellent. There is bar in the property which is a nice touch. We have stayed in many Guest houses and hotels when visiting South Shields and this is by far one of the best! Superb & faultless.

Set in a residential street, this large Victorian house is only a 2-minute walk to South Shields town center, parks and beaches. It has nicely decorated bedrooms and free parking.

All rooms are tastefully decorated with traditional features and modern touches, such as flat-screen TVs. Guests also get tea/coffee making facilities and free WiFi.

A full English breakfast is available. Restaurants and pubs can be found a 5-minute walk away and special diets can be catered for on request.

Kingsmere Guest House is located off of Ocean Road, which means you have ready access to the shops, restaurants and bars of South Shields. Our guest house has a comfortable tranquillity, being set back away from the main road, yet a five minute stroll in one direction will have you on the gorgeous beaches and access to Bents Park where there are many free concerts, exhibitions etc held throughout the year. New for 2021 is a dedicated fully licensed, tastefully furnished & decorated Lounge Bar for guests. With a wide variety of wines, beers, spirits & soft drinks, it is the perfect space for pre-dinner drinks or winding down when the kids are in bed! All but one of our rooms are en-suite, the remaining room has access to its own private shower room. There are colour TV's with Freeview, tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water & complimentary toiletries in each room. We offer a varied breakfast menu from The 'Full English' to American Pancakes with Golden Syrup. The Metro is a 5/7 minute walk from the guest house, which is a convenient way of getting about the county & Newcastle Airport. Our guest house is perfect for families, couples, cyclists, walkers etc. We can also accommodate well behaved dogs! If you would like to sail across the Tyne from South Shields, the ferry landing stage is a short walk away from the guest house. South Shields Colleges For guests visiting South Shields for training purposes, the South Tyneside Nautical College, the Sea Survival Centre and The North East Tiling Training Centre are all within walking distance from the guest house, in South Shields

We are Paul & Sally Fletcher, originally from Devon - we moved to South Shields in early 2016 to be nearer friends & family. Our aim at The Kingsmere Guest House is to offer a comfortable, value for money stay!

Within a five minute walk from the Guest House, you can be either on the beach, in the town centre or having a look around the Arbeia Roman Fort. South Shields has two beaches, Little Haven & Sandhaven both of which have their own separate qualities.
