The breakfast was amazing. The host was willing to make an alternative if you didn’t want the Scottish breakfast.
She was very welcoming and helped if you needed advice about travel or the town.

Convenient location for anyone coming by car or taxi. Rooms are well sized and decently equipped for this price level. Beds are comfortable, and it's nice to have the option for a bath. Area is quiet (although we stayed midweek) so ideal to get a decent night's sleep.
Restaurant/bar/reception across the carpark is comfortable and the food (both dinner and breakfast) is delicious. The breakfast included in the price is a continental one, so if you want a cooked breakfast it's better to pay for it on the day.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We decided to go for three reasons and stayed near to Falkirk at Caldercruix the attractions were 1, The Kelpies 2, the Falkirk Lift or wheel 3, Callendar House. The fist two items were superb unfortunately the house was closed due to a concert but we had a wonderfull walk through the gardens. We were able to get a train to Edinburgh from our base at a cost of £26.00
return for two tickets, not worth the effort to drive and and then to try and park.

We were travelling from Falkirk to Airdrie so didn't see that much, especially as Craig Park House is quite rural. It was a pity we couldn't stay longer as it would have been nice to have investigated the locality.

Airdrie itself seemed to have little to recommend it but the restaurant I had dinner in was excellent. The Himalaya curry house. People were friendly enough but the pubs were awful. Perhaps next time I stay on business I will check out other parts of Airdrie.

I didn't actually visit Airdrie, my visit was mainly to return my late wife's ashes to her family in Lanark where I knew they would be cared for.
I did have a quick look at Glasgow whilst here strange to find all roads appear to be at right angles. Was told Glasgow had major immigrant problem but all I saw was very elderly women of I assume Afghan heritage on street corners begging with not a single male member in sight, Found it sad as I could not envisage leaving my mother to beg for the family? Did not endear me to Glasgow.
Short stay and all I had time for must go back again this year

Airdrie itself has its few places of interest and perhaps the free "museum" at nearby Summerlee in Coatbridge will depict the Old Airdrie which was typical of many old Scottish towns in the past. Airdrie is central for visiting Strathclyde Park nearby, and the famous Hamilton Mausoleum. Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy travelling time. Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, The Kelpies, Linlithgow Palace, etc, are all within easy reach of Airdrie.
Sandy & Cathy Aitken are the most phenomenal people. Their kindness and hospitality made me feel as if I had unpacked my entire home—they are where the heart is. Admittedly, I felt a ‘wee bit’ sad having to say goodbye. Sandy & Cathy, many thanks for everything! The room, the breakfasts, the talks, the laughs—you’ve made my first to trip to Scotland absolutely wonderful. Please keep your eye out for a little token of my appreciation in the coming weeks: via email.
Fantastic place to stay for Scotland exploration. The cottage is cosy, very clean and with some history. Sandy and Cathy are lovely couple. Their Scottish breakfast is delicious. It was our first visit to Scotland and thanks to Sandy's advices we have seen great places that we would have missed. We will highly recommend Shawlee Cottage to everyone. And we will be back :)
Lovely little house, lovely owner, nice location, just what we wanted, far enough away from Glasgow to not feel we were in the thick of it, close enough we could drive in for some shopping, would love to have had longer to explore airdrie!
I love a place with a washing machine so I don't have a weeks worth of washing when I go home!
Would go back.
The cottage was immaculate with all the facilities in place plus many personal touches. Elaine, the host was very friendly and accommodating and keen to ensure things were ok. Plains is a lovely little village on the outskirts of Airdrie and the cottage is easy to find with the M8 within a 10 min drive. A most enjoyable experience all round.
Breakfast exeptional, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely Cathy and Sandy who really make you welcome. Beautiful home and garden with lots of character. Very near Airdrie railway station with a good car park. £1.50 to park your car for the day and you even get that back when you buy a rail ticket, only 25 mins for a pleasant run to Glasgow.
Clean, comfortable, affordable without ever feeling "cheap." I wanted to stay out of the way a bit from the major conference I attended. I learned how to navigate the bus and train system. When I came in very late due to the trains being late, they stayed up late to open the place. Most importantly, the location is beautiful and peaceful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with William, he is a great host super friendly and accommodating. The apartment is very cozy, big sofas plenty of room for a family of 4, property is in a nicer part of Airdrie in between town centre and chapelhall, very quiet. All in I will definitely stay here again in the future when visiting family. 👍
Well located on the outskirts of town, lovely views and short walk to amenities. Nice and quiet, very clean and plenty of room for a family of 4. Host was very pleasant and helpful. Great location for exploring and good public transport links. The property exceeded our expectations as did Airdrie.
Nothing I’m in poor health & my daughter & myself Wer booked in by my cousin who booked this for me by mistake as it was meant to be Tudor hotel so I was close to the hospital & I had appointment at 9 following morning
Breakfast was really good. Fairview b & b is on a bus root we found it easy to get into Airdrie with the bus stop very close by. The host was very helpful with information about where to go for a meal.
Lovely breakfast and choice with menu. Train station a short walk for Airdrie, Glasgow and Edinburgh trains. Bus stop also outside the property for Airdrie etc.
