Ringwood is a nice little village, with several cafes and restaurants. It is well situated for making trips around the countryside, but a bit close to a very large road (=traffic noise). There is not much to do in Ringwood itself (we visited family there)

Ringwood is a mix of chocolate box and modern.
Ringwood is a mix of chocolate box and modern. Huge choice of eating options from everyday to extraordinary. some "sourdough" places Frampton's and Bake House 24 and more everyday like café Aroma all three were great. the hospitality in every restaurant or Pub we visited was spot on.
Masala Indian take away also highly recommended.
The Cellar really cool, great vibe on a Friday night.
Pubs! The Railway and the Elm Tree also recommended for food and Beer.
Ringwood Brewery also worth a visit.
It's a great base for walks down the Avon but beware if the river is high it will be wet.
The Castleman Trail way is just south of the town and offers easy access on foot to the New Forest both North and South.
If you have a Car then I recommend the Rose and Thistle in Rockbourne. A brilliant base for walks in stunning country side.

St Peter and St Paul's Church was a nice one to look in and around. The Star Inn did lovely Thai meals and also The Original White Hart did good food, when the kitchen was open! If staying at The White Hart you can park for free in their car park.
The host, Sue, was friendly and accommodating. She helped us out whenever we needed and introduced us to her lovely animals. The hamper filled with goodies blew us away, and the prosecco and beers were delightful. The room was cosy and romantic. We loved the chimenea outdoors and had it going every evening. There's nothing better than sipping a glass of prosecco with the fire going, watching the sunset! The location was great and was a short drive to most nearby towns. If you want a true New Forest experience, this is the place to stay!
We stayed here for two nights in a four person room. The room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Ringwood is a lovely little town with great restaurants and cafes nearby and brilliantly situated for walks in the New Forest. The staff could not have been more welcoming, offering great advice on the local area. The breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend trying the Thai evening menu and local ale. Thanks Ian and team for making us feel so comfortable during our stay :)
The studio was extremely comfortable making for an enjoyable overnight stay. The tables and chairs provided in the garden and the BBQ are a bonus, We were most impressed by the owners who contacted us soon after we had left as we had inadvertently left a jacket in the wardrobe. By that time we were well on our way home, so they arranged to post it back to us. Great service!
Remote location at the heart of the New Forest. Full service maintained despite imminent refurbishment. Breakfast options were fantastic. Considering it is a pub, the evening menu was very good. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Our room was spacious and contained a sofa. We liked the welcoming and helpful manager, who was always available but not intrusive.
Breakfast good with plenty of choice. Helpful friendly staff. Room had a walkway outside where I could stand and smoke. The town of Ringwood and the variety of restaurants and shops. Enjoyed the market day. Short distance to the New Forest and coast.
The location was magical....right in the heart of the New Forest. We have stayed many years in this area, but this was by far the best
location. Dan was very helpful. Our granddaughter loved him as he showed interest in her love of sharks!!!
Great family run hotel.
The manager Amy was very helpful and the lovely large rooms had everything you needed. Good food and drink down in the pub area. Quiet at night, so you could get a good night's sleep. Also parking for hotel guests.
A fabulous spot to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Good food, open fire, cosy & friendly.
Wonderful bath & bathroom, views of wild ponies from the window in the morning. Nice teas & coffees provided.
Shetland Cottage was perfect for our 3 night autumn stay. Very well equipped, clean, comfortable and cosy. Lovely location close to the New Forest and the coast. We would highly recommend this cottage.
WOW !! What a wonderful find The Annexe was clean and comfy with a powerful shower with lots of little extras. Karen & Chris were kind and knowledgeable about The New Forest area.Simply stunning !!!!
The hotel is in a good position on the high street with off road parking. The room was very comfy and the breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. If in the area we would stay here again.
Fabulous service, excellent breakfast menu, bedroom very clean lovely hot water for bath and shower, lunchtime and evening menu good and food cooked really well. Couldn't fault it.
Hosts Wendy and Phil were great, very welcoming.
The location was wonderful and nowhere for the New Forest seemed more than 20 minutes away.
A great secure location.
Room was very clean. Private secluded parking. Good location to explore the New Forest. The Alice Isle pub is well worth a visit - very good food and real ale.
Location was convenient for shops but very noisy at bed time. Didn't have breakfast because I wasn't happy about the general level of cleanliness in the hotel.
