The room was very clean. The hosts are very friendly and the check-in/out system was simple enough! The bed was comfortable and the shower was really hot. It is really well located and it is not too difficult to find parking in the surrounding streets.

Location of the place was perfect and extremely near everything you need in Old Town Edinburgh. Richard, who welcomed us also had someone clean the toilet every morning. He also prepared a carton of milk and a jug of water that was placed in a fridge. Having TV was a nice touch too.

Location was superb. Milk in fridge and tea in bedroom very welcome. Bed linen quality very good. We were able to leave our bags in the hallway of the property on the day we checked out, which was a great facility as we weren't leaving Edinburgh until 7.30 in the evening.. Many thanks to our host.

    The Rooms are non smoking in line with Scottish smoking regulations. There is an covered area in the front yard where people can smoke.

    Yes, on the day of check out we can store luggage. There are bus stops very close and the train station is just a 10 minute walk away. The tram stop at York place is just a 4 minute walk away. Various local businesses offer day excursions

We seek to provide a "home from home" for our guest house guests.
Lantern Guest House is located on quiet Windsor Street, very close to the busy hub of Edinburgh. Carlton Hill, located just the other side of London Road is well worth walking up. You get a panoramic view of Edinburgh and the coastline. Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre, Omni Centre, John Lewis etc are a few minutes walk from Lantern Guest House. There are plentiful restaurants and bars in the close vacinity including the famous Valvona & Crolla.
