The location was incredible, the property outside was spectacular, the inside was clean, lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the common area was so nice. The hosts were extra friendly and accommodating. The view from anywhere...

Booked this location as more affordable than B&B on Isle of Skye. Booked two rooms for family of five. B&B provided adjoining rooms on upper floor next to a common lounge. Beautiful remote setting. We booked dinner one night and took standard...

A beautiful location—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully presented. The drive-in is quite challenging, but we found it enjoyable in our Ford Kuga. The route to the B&B is incredibly scenic, both on the way there and upon arrival. We recommend...

As they say, "it's the journey, not the destination". The drive through the unspoiled highlands was beyond beautiful. A litle like a roller coaster ride at times, but definitely worth it. The deer and Highland Hairy cows were well versed in how...

Nothing to complain about the room, the host is helpful and lovely! Just to be aware the location is a bit distance from Invergarry and the way there would be dark in the night. Try to be there before 8 pm.

The location is in a beautiful remote area. James and Daisy manage an exceptionally beautiful B&B in a remote area. Their dog Izzy was an added bonus. Breakfast was excellent. The area really makes you feel like you're in the middle of no where....

Really nice and friendly host with excellent recommendations. Excellent breakfast. Nice place to walk around (unfortunately we did not have the time to hike here, but I am sure it would have been a great experience as well). The animals you can...

Amazing location - the drive there is along a single track road and the views are stunning. Practically the road is well sealed as well. The hosts are very friendly and approachable and the food was great. The room was really comfortable and we...

Property info

Lochhournhead warmly welcomes guests (and well-behaved dogs!) throughout the year. Please note we are a 2 hour drive to the Isle of Skye ! So whether you’re a long-distance hiker, a hill walker, a mountain biker, a Munro Bagger, or you’re just looking for a chance to get away from it all surrounded by beautiful countryside and a light-pollution-free night sky, we’ll look forward to seeing you! Being situated at the end of a 22 mile road, in the middle of the hills, we are very remote - please note it can take an hour to get to us from the A87. Hence, we offer simple suppers so please contact us if you would like this option as we asked that they are booked in advance.

Neighborhood info

On the Cape Wrath Trail, and with paths leading to Barisdale, Inverie, Arnisdale & Shiel Bridge, Lochhournhead provides an ideal base and a wonderful place for you to unwind, relax and explore the stunning scenery and wilderness of Knoydart from the warm, comfortable and homely base we have created.

We modernised the properties in 2017 to create a home away from home. The location suits those with a sense of adventure and love of the great outdoors.

Lochhournhead, Kinlochourn is ideally located for those wishing to climb the many Munro’s and Corbett’s or explore the diversity of Loch Hourn arguably one of Scotland’s most fjord like sea lochs. The limit is your imagination and ambition.
