Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London,...
Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London, is a pleasant working class suburb of London. The streets were clean and during the day I was happy to see that the shops were all used and open for trade. The people were approachable and friendly (although as in most places there are bound to be others that are not). I went to a local cafe and had something to eat and drink, it was surprisingly cheap and good quality. As it was New Years eve, I had to return to the area in the early hours of the morning, however, felt safe doing so, (again just be aware of the surroundings and stay alert, but this would be the same in any area). Overall, I found Barking a lovely down to earth area.

For a 2 star hotel it rated well....staff were able to provide a fan as the room was not sufficiently cool enough for sleeping
Staff were friendly and cooperative...drawback location being some distance from Barking railway station...at least 15/20 minutes walk

The room was boiling hot. there wasn't any AC available. no spare pillows and bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. shower facility was very poor. the room was very small. They call it hotel but most of the customers looked like council use this place as refuge accommodate those people. very poor quality for the money. Totally waste of money and Saturday night.
Terrible area. Terrible hotel. Terrible everything there. Even thought you might be low on budget, do NOT stay at the bank hotel in barking if you care for your health. The place should close and be sanitized. All the furnitures, beds etc should be burned. I am NOT exaggerating.

The child bunk bed was very hard and uncomfortable and it was not made on arrival so we had to put sheets on ourselves bathroom had no lock and my 3 year old can easily open the door if i was using the toilet or shower! Keycards did not work and caused us a lot of frustration and really made our whole experience at the hotel very disappointing would not stay here again wasnt cheap to book this place either at £80 is definitely not a budget hotel the family room was very small for the price

Didn’t feel safe in Barking but we went to a Turkish restaurant around the corner from the dreams hotel and it was absolutely stunning really recommend that place if I could only remember the name of it lol
About the apartment I stayed in London home Away Barking, I did a last minute booking which took me less than few minutes to arrive as the location which was so accessible I was checked in and the environment was so nice as was advertised. with an orthopaedic bed and the reception was amazing from the host. This is by far one of the best houses in London, interior design was very beautiful and modern. Superb house and the Host was very professional, polite, kind and was very helpful. One of the best hosts in London.
This was our second stay at this hotel and yet again felt welcomed by the staff who couldn’t do enough to help. Great location for us to drive into London for a day of shopping and plenty of parking available at a cost of £7 per night. Which is reasonable as the rooms are so cheap. The local area has shops, cafes, restaurants within walking distance but can take about 20mins. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Great if you aren’t spending loads of time in the room. Will be returning again next time we visit London.
Very close to the Barking subway station, even with luggage no problem. rooms are very small and a bit tired but for that price it is a solid offer. please be aware that you will feel almost like in Africa, very lively environment. I loved it. the pub next door (part of the hotel) serves African food only, and excellent beer. lots of small shops and eateries around the hotel. will definitely stay there again next year.
I was travelling with my sisters and we just needed to use the bedroom for the nights, otherwise we were barely home. For that reason we got by and got a good nights sleep. The hosts were friendly and ready to help and answer questions when needed.
12 min walk from Barking train station and was very easy to find! And a very quiet and peaceful area!
The hotel was good and clean, and the staff was very friendly, especially Sony was quite helpful. I was there to study for my exam, so they even offered me a quiet room.
For those who want to take the PLAB 2 exam and are enrolled at Common Stations, the hotel is a great place to stay at. It's only 10-15 minutes away from the academy.
It is a nice little hotel in a market town which mean there are plenty of choices food wise nearby, even late at night. It is about 6 minutes walk away from Barking Station where you can get most tube lines and if your attending an event at Spurs Stadium it is pretty easy to get to.
The staff members were very helpful and did everything that they could be expected to do.
The location was close to Barking station which worked for me.
There was no hassle with booking or check out.
The wash and shower areas were presented well and were professionally tiled.
Amazing apartment with spectacular views with the city of London on the horizon. Convenientlly located next to Barking station (District Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith Line), which means you can reach the heart of London in about 45 minutes.
.Better than expected for the price, location is OK, a bit sus in the evening but it's close to the Barking station. Comfortable bed for the price, big bathroom.
The price was good and the look of the hotel was clean and relatively modern. Some of the communal areas - stairs, kitchen - were shabbier and poorly maintained
