The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centers. Well-known for its M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it's also a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.
Most city center hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping center, and behind that is Digbeth Bus Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.
The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Center) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.
Just across the street is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modeled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.
The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top soccer clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

Birmingham is a busy and growing city with a lot of development going on. But there are great museums, a sea life centre, Legoland, a lot to see. The best thing is that it´s within a day's trip to Leicester, Coventry, Warwick, Stratford, and many more splendid places.

This property is a scam! We are not very happy for it was so dirty and disgusting! It was totally different from the picrure to the actual place!!! All bedsheets and duveys are so dirty, stinky and blood stain! The kitchen is full of mess and rubbish! The sitting area are full of chewing gums! The toilet bowl is full of poo! The sink a lot of hair!!!! A normal people cannot stay on that kind of place! Booking.com should give us a full refund!!!!which they never did!

Since building the tram ways into Birmingham is has made it safe for pedestrians but taken away the vibe the buzz of socialising and pushed it into down town Birmingham where the train station is. Watch your pockets get drained by over pricing your pocket, we were over charged for a meal by £30 they blamed it on the technology they were using.

Fantastic compact City, with everything you would need for a short stay. It was so easy to navigate and the bars, restaurants and hotel we experienced were top notch.
The canal area with it's lively restaurants is a real buzz, if you like that!
We came from Ireland and it really was a hop and a skip to get right to the centre of the City from our own doorstep.
I would highly recommend Birmingham for a visit if you like shopping, restaurants and very friendly people. We will be back!

Extremely impressed by Birmingham and ideal for a short break. The canal, Westside area has been completely redeveloped. There are many restaurants, theatres, a concert hall and arena all around the canal area. It’s all beautifully clean, modern with lots to see and do. It’s only a short walk to the Bull Ring offering a great selection of shops and places to eat. Central Birmingham has been reinvented over the last decade! Well worth a visit.

Great city centre with world class art gallery and museum (though currently being refurbished) and marvellous rep. theatre, well thought-out pedestrianisation and landscaping, shopping and many other attractions
I like everything about this accomodation. The staff is very helpful and super nice. The way he greeted us is amazing. The room is larger than in the photo, you can easily be comfortable with the room. The bathroom is clean, they served us with face towels, body towels, and various amenities. Coffee, tea, and water heater are the perfect match for your stay. Television is working perfectly. The room is tidy and clean. The architecture of this hotel is also wonderful. I will surely go back to them when I visit Birmingham
Have stayed in a few hotels recently that claimed to have gyms but when you got there they turned out to be a room with a couple of cardio’s and some lightweight dumbbells. They didn’t even have air condition. This hotel however had a really well equipped gym. And it was air-conditioned and a real joy to work out in. Everything you needed was there. I have stayed and quite a few Birmingham city centre hotels and this is definitely the one with the best fitness centre.
The location is less than 100 yards from Birmingham New Street train station which made arriving and departing very convenient. Central location also meant great public transport links / easy taxi access. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was spotless. Room a fair size and adequately appointed. Bed was comfy. Shower excellent. Breakfast was superb. The price I paid was half of what I would expect to pay for a similar room in city centre hotel.
Easy to get to from main transport hubs in Birmingham, modern and clean hotel with washing facilities - very handy after travelling for several days with dirty laundry! Really big room which was great upon first arrival - until I turned on the aircon which didn't work. Advised reception and they immediately put me in a different room which unfortunately was considerably smaller. No compensation as it is the same class of room. Great buffet breakfast.
The room alone exceeded my expectations. I am an independent travel concierge so I visit a lot of places and The Malmaison Birmingham I can honestly say was a 10/10 experience from beginning to end.
The decor was detailed to perfection and that partnered with the staff and how polite and welcoming they all were I will be happy to recommend you to all of my clients and couples. Thank you
Travelled to Birmingham for an event so only wanted a value for money room - and it delivered that and more (one of the best nights sleep I have had in a hotel - comfy bed, quiet room with no outside light to disturb. The wonderful pub downstairs with great staff was an unexpected bonus. Easy walk to the city centre.
The hotel was easy to find with convenient onsite parking. Check in was straightforward, only having to enter the car registration for free parking. The room was well appointed, clean & had all the facilities you'd expect. Breakfast was the usual self service & easy to access.
Breakfast was very good, selection and quality . Staff were excellent, good advice on traveling using public transport to get in and out of the city centre. really appreciated being able to leave the car in the hotel whilst we went to the open day at Birmingham University.
Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Great breakfast - both full English and the choices for the Continental breakfast too! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely setting in the University of Birmingham Campus.
Small but comfortable room. The hotel location is great, it’s right next to the O2 Academy Birmingham so it’s very convenient if you’re going to a gig there. It’s also a short walk away from the city centre and the railway station.
The room was a lot nicer than expected and for the price it was perfect. Only a 10/15min walk to Bull Ring. Used the B4 parking next to the hotel which you get discount on which is a nice/safe car park.
Friendly and helpful staff along with an excellent location nearby Broad Street, the city centre and the main attractions in Birmingham make this hotel an excellent choice for a weekend family trip
Good quality hotel at a reasonable cost.
Located in the university area within walking distance of University railway station.
Close to Birmingham city centre and with good transportation links.
A cosy and traditional hotel located in the Birmingham city centre, very near to the Railway Station and New Street.
Quite comfortable, and quiet. Friendly staff.
