All in all it was the most pleasant and perfect stay and experience to us.We felt there was no bad bits about the place, but is was tastefully decorated and restored environment, going respectfully with the historical era of the building. Delicious food, well thought out everything about customers stay. Many thanks and warm recommendations.

Moffat is a lovely small town in the border region. Lots of places to eat and drink and interesting independent shops. The people of Moffat are amongst the most welcoming and friendly I have ever met.

Moffat is a lovely little town with many quirky shops and quite a few short local walks for the adventurers also there are longer walks for the more adventurist especially a 10 mile drive to the The Grey Mares Tail is well worth a visit but the road to it is very narrow in places

All the good things that other reviewers have said are true - this is a superb hotel. I don't want to just repeat what others have said but in summary - high standard of cleanliness, beautiful accommodation and outside space, delicious food, etc - but I'd like to focus on the staff.
We've stayed in hotels all over the world from the Hotel Jellyfish in Nepal ($1 a night) to the Waldorf Astoria in New York and I think what elevates a good hotel into a great hotel is the quality of the staff. At Moffat House the staff are exceptional. Every staff member we've met has been friendly and helpful. Even our dog has been fussed over by the staff. It all felt very welcoming.
We had a very pleasant, relaxing time time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moffat House Hotel.

We ate in at 2 places.
We ate in at 2 places. Have to say food was basic at The Star hotel but staff were lovely.
Mutchies Munchies had breakfast here would not go back! Sausage s just about cooked but wasn’t going to risk them. Just all very bland and basic.
Couple of nice gift shops.
Moffat ok as a stop off on a long journey, wouldn’t make a special trip.
We absolutely loved this apartment, it was beautiful and comfortable and interesting! Such a quiet location and yet only minutes from the motorway. It was only a stopover for us on our way back from Scotland, but has definitely whetted our appetite to explore moffat and the area a little more at another time. We just had time to nip into Moffat for a coffee at one of its delightful coffee shops. A very pleasant little town , like something out of a novel.
If you are a motorcyclist this is the hotel for you. Dave and family couldn't do enough for us. This is our second visit but not our last. Fabulous food, safe secure parking, very comfortable accommodation
Dave's excellent knowledge of the local roads is extensive. Moffat proved to be a perfect base to explore the local roads He downloaded routes straight on to our satnav which were the best.
Dave your a star, thank you for making our stay so memorable
Cracking little bed and breakfast. Hosts were very attentive, room was comfortable, well presented and spotlessly clean. Breakfast the next morning was excellent - no skimping on quality or portion size! I was travelling on business but would certainly stay here again for business or leisure. Moffat is only a stones throw away so plenty of local amenities to hand if you need them including a couple of nice eateries. Big thumbs up from me!!
The room was a good size, very high ceilings, the bathroom looked recently renovated and was very clean and new. The hotel was a short walk to Moffat town centre where we could visit the local shops. Very friendly reception knew who we were as soon as we arrived, and when we needed extra toiletries they were happy to oblige. A delicious breakfast in the morning was the cherry on the cake.
Probably the best accommodation we have been in . Beautiful house, spotless rooms, fantastic and helpful owners. Highly highly recommendable for families. Very nice location if traveling between England and Scotland and many things to be seen in the area. Stay at least Teo nights. I would not be surprised if it gets an award.
Beautifully cooked and served traditional Scottish breakfast. The location was good, being on a quiet road with country views, and accessible for the town. As seniors it was a little too far for us to walk into Moffat , but no problem for younger legs. We received a warm welcome and the hospitality was friendly.
This room had a fabulous view of downtown Moffat and a wonderful stone wall. Over breakfast our host filled us in on the long history of the house and his experience renovating it. The room is right downtown, close to everything and the stay was delightful.
Breakfast was very good. House was really nice - old with original features. Bed was comfortable. Location very convenient for an overnight stop off the M74 and Moffat is an interesting old town in a beautiful area.
The best stop on our tour of Scotland. Great owners/staff, good food, excellent value for money. Beautiful grounds and outside dining/drinking area. Friendly pub. Would definitely stay there again.
located in an busy downtown ish area with a good amount of restaurants and bars around. we didn’t use the facilities or even the restaurant at the hotel, but the staff did seem nice.
Conveniently situated for an overnight break on a journey from Scotland to North Wales. Lovely property with high ceilings and some period features. Very friendly and helpful staff.
A great stopover in Moffat on our drive up to Scotland. The room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. John made us feel at home and made a lovely breakfast.
