Liverpool is one of the world's great cities.
Liverpool is one of the world's great cities. There's a lot more to it than the Beatles, though the music scene and its heritage are well worth catching up with. Once the British Empire's greatest port, the city centre is full of great architecture reflecting its nineteenth and early twentieth-century glories. Go down to the waterfront to see the world-famous Three Graces, or up Brownlow Hill to visit the Catholic cathedral of Christ the King, a striking piece of modernism and England's most interesting cathedral building. Liverpool rejoices in excellent national museums (including a branch of the Tate), a fabulous concert hall and orchestra (the Philharmonic), and has a strong mix of Irish, Chinese and other cultural heritages which enrich city life.
Merseyrail, the (mainly) underground railway, makes travel straightforward, though the latest new trains have had their teething troubles. You'll find the locals friendly as long as you go along with their view that Liverpool is the greatest city in England.

The city has a great vibe. Iconic buildings.
The city has a great vibe. Iconic buildings. Loads of pubs with stunning architecture, recommend The Vines, The Grapes, The Slaughterhouse, The Cavern, they’ll do for starters.
Interesting city walks. The Royal Albert dock is a great day out. The city tour bus is an ideal way to see everything, hop on, hop off at buildings of interest ie Cathedrals, St George’s Hall, Chinatown, Philharmonic Hall.
Baltic triangle worth a visit for food and drink. Castle Street also has plenty of trendy restaurants, Italian, French, Thai and more.
Finally what makes the city what it is - The people.

Liverpool is a vibrant city, you have almost everything in one place (culture, nice buildings, excellent food, awesome English ALES (beers), best city tour I have tried (where there is a tour guide that plays live music from THE BEATLES, makes a lot of nice jokes, nice walks, great views on the River Mersey. I really enjoyed the city break a lot. The city is not huge, so you can do it by walk.
The only thing that drew my attention and it should be a bit more trash bins / litters, because in my opinion there was a bit of trash on the streets and I think this is the main reason (not enough litters)
Overall Liverpool rocks as a city. I loved it.

First ever visit to Liverpool & we thought it was great some...
First ever visit to Liverpool & we thought it was great some amazing buildings & architecture. Most places seem well maintained & everyone seems to make an effort to make it look nice.
We did a bus tour whilst we were here which was great to get some of the history & get a feel for the area.
We walked by the Mersey, shops & bars whist we were here & defiantly worth a visit.
For a Monday night the peace was buzzing live bands on in many bars & a great atmosphere.
If you get the chance to visit you definatly should.
The location was the main reason I booked this hotel; it is ideally placed for sightseeing, being near Albert Docks, the Pier Head etc. Walking to both cathedrals, the Walker Gallery etc. was easy but for those who find walking difficult the Metro station is underneath the hotel with trains that go to Liverpool Lime Street and also underneath the Mersey to the Wirral and Chester! Liverpool One shopping centre and restaurants are also nearby.
Our room was large and there was an ironing board and iron (not that I needed them).
The hotel was everything we wished for - value for money, next to Liverpool Lime Street railway station and all the sights and conveniences of the city centre, comfortable and quite spacious rooms, good bed, warm service from Kat and her colleagues (much better than other IHG hotels we stayed at).
Didn't try the breakfast, but the price is very reasonable if you book it ahead of time.
Lovely breakfast, including full English, Eggs Benedict etc. Great location with docks, museums, and city centre all within walking distance with so much to see and do. Our second time to the hotel and area, will be back again. NCP Parking literally just round the corner with Hotel Indigo special discount rate.
Great location for Liverpool city centre and Albert docks. Comfortable rooms and beds. Staff friendly and helpful. Convenient for both train and bus station. Kitchen had everything needed to cook own meals and Tesco 5 mins away. Had tea coffee and milk in room on arrival.
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and ran the hotel efficiently. Resulting in a relaxing enjoyable stay. The food was very good with an excellent choice and plentiful, the parking on site was very good and good value for a city centre.
Hotel is walking distance from the train station and the city centre.
Check-in was quick and easy with friendly staff on Reception.
Decent sized room which was clean and well equipped, and the bed was comfortable.
Good, powerful shower.
The location was perfect for what I wanted, since it is glued to the ACC Liverpool Convention Center. Also there were many restaurants close to the hotel.
The room was properly clean and the staff were friendly.
We love the Aloft room style where the bed looks over the city! The breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choice and delicious full English breakfast items. The location is perfect for Liverpool city centre.
Great location near docks & City centre shopping / attractions. Well- equipped kitchenette in room. Proper reading lights both sides of bed. Secure parking adjacent to hotel. Friendly helpful staff.
Great choice at breakfast. My boys loved the waffle maker. Chloe on reception was absolutely lovely. Hotel in a wonderful location - easy access to the docks, city centre and the train station.
The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and well located for docks and city centre.
Car park was a great bonus.
We only had breakfast once, though the food was good.
The hotel was very nice and the staff were also really friendly and helpful. The hotel is close, walking distance, to the city centre, Liverpool One and the docks.
It was very fine, one of best hotel stays I have had in city centre with the price and ratting (I believe i booked at discounted rate for that time and room)
