Excellent staff, excellent location remote but you knew that going into the trip. Stunning surroundings as well. Fantastic food for breakfast, honestly we went for a wedding so didn't spend too much time at the accommodation. But the staff (maybe owners) couldn't have helped us more. A gem of a property and if you get the chance it's a must stay.

The family-run Mansewood Country House has a 300-year history and is located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The 4-star property is at the head of Loch Earn and features its own bar and free WiFi in public areas. All rooms at Mansewood are en suite and individually decorated in warm and neutral tones with views of the surrounding scenery. Each room features a 32-inch flat-screen TV and tea/coffee-making facilities, and beds are made up with feather down quilts. Breakfast is served in a bright room overlooking the garden and surrounding area. Lochearnhead is under a mile away and is the closest village, providing the possibility of water sports on the loch. Stunning hiking country can be found all around, and the guest house is just over an hour’s drive from Fort William and the foot of Ben Nevis. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Oban with its famous whiskey distillery are all an hour away by car.

Our ethos is quite simple: if we have it in the bar or pantry, you can have it. We try to make you feel comfortable in the house, and the biggest compliment you can pay is if we find you nodded off in front of the fire, or reading a book with your feet up in a quiet corner. Come and enjoy the space - it's here for you!

Property info

Our 300 year old house has been open to guests since 1933, and has a comfortable guest lounge, sun room, from which you can watch the comings and goings at the bird feeders, and a well stocked guest bar. Our very simple aim is to make you feel as if you are at home - kick off your shoes, and forget the world. Please confirm your dinner reservation prior to booking a room to avoid disappointment. Also, some double rooms are available for single occupancy. We look forward to welcoming you to this special corner of Scotland.

Neighborhood info

We feel immensely lucky to be able to live in a stunning part of the world where others come for a holiday. A relatively short walk in any direction will take to remote and empty spots - we can tell you where to go and sit by a rushing river and watch out for wildlife - we have a beaver lodge only 20 minutes walk away, and birds of prey which are a constant in the skies around and about. Deer and red squirrel often come into the garden as well.
