Breakfast was minimal due to COVID restrictions but kept Ed us going for the morning and had to be eaten in room. The owners were lovely, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Only drawback the room was cold , but really was wrong time of year to be enjoying lovelyweather as it rained continuously on the Saturday and sun and showers on Sunday which caused the temperature to drop but had fantastic views over the surrounding town sand sea.

We asked for a sea view room and got one and just off the corridor was a lovely balcony which we sat on in the evenings. breakfast was a choice of several things and we had bacon sandwiches every morning which were very tasty. Cakes were left out for everyone in the afternoon which after walking all day were very much appreciated.

Huge spotless room with a good view, the balcony just outside the room was even better! Also loved the pieces of sponge left out in the evening! It is a good 10 min walk to the town, probably 15 mins coming back but we enjoyed that. We would definitely stay again.

Our stay was perfect following 6 months of lockdown and cancelled holidays! Alex and Naomi were very welcoming and the COVID 19 guidelines were adhered to on every level. Our room (no 6) was very comfortable spacious with a super en-suite shower room and views to die for. Alex gave some super tips of places to visit and Naomi’s homemade cakes were very welcome with a cup of tea after a day sightseeing. It was a pity ( although understandable) that we were unable to enjoy the dining room /bar/games room but hope to change that when we visit again in the spring! Thoroughly recommend this hotel in Minehead ! Somerset is such a beautiful part of the country !!

Located on the tranquil North Hill of Minehead, Marston Lodge Hotel has lovely panoramic views of Exmoor National Park and Somerset’s rugged coastline. There is home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi.

Ideal for exploration and relaxation, the elegant house was built around 1900 and retains much of its original elegant style and charm. Most of the comfortable and bright bedrooms with attached bathroom have panoramic views.

The hotel is among the first private residences built on Exmoor’s North Hill. Guests are just a 5-minute walk from the beach or the shops and bars of Minehead’s town center. The West Somerset Railway is a 10-minute walk.

An extensive refurbishment has brought a new level of luxury to the Marston, including new, stylish tiled bathrooms.

A delicious breakfast is served every day using local produce and the Lodge’s own free-range eggs.

  • We don’t know Minehead, is it quite hilly?

    The town itself is on the flat, however, the stunning backdrop to Minehead is the beautiful North Hill (the foot of Exmoor). We are located a little way up the hill, allowing us to enjoy coast & country panoramic views. Please call for more details.

    No, there is not a shuttle service to the beach; it is a 10 minute walk by footpath. Alternatively, a taxi will take approximately 2-3 minutes to get the beach.

  • Hello, the double room which you have available for 4 nights from 18th Sept, does it have a shower?, and which floor is it on?

    Hello. All of our rooms have en-suite shower, some also have a bath, but they are booked on your selected dates. Room allocation will be nearer the time of arrival, depending on direct bookings & requests: at this stage it's looking like 1st floor.

    No. there is not a lift! We are a traditional Edwardian House with stairs to the 1st & 2nd floor rooms. If you would like to make a reservation, please request a 1st floor room & we will do our best to accommodate you. Kind Regards, Marston Lodge

    We have parking immediately outside the house for 5 cars, & there are steps or a ramp leading to the front door. Please be aware that all our rooms are either first or second floor (via a staircase). Kind regards Marston Lodge

  • I am very keen on booking your free double room as I really like the look of your hotel, and I will do so immediately if you can definitely reserve me a room on the first floor- I am disabled but can probably manage, slowly, some steps up to the first floor. Please could you give me this assurance.

  • Thanks for your reply, just need to confirm before booking the room as I am partially disabled - will the ensuite definitely have a shower as I can't use a bath, and will the room be on the ground or first floor as I can only manage a few stairs? Also is parking available?, I do have a blue badge.

    We do not have any ground floor rooms so it will be either first or second floor; the rooms that are available have en-suite showers. Parking is available on a first come first serve basis. There are no restrictions for parking on the road outside.
