Built in 1929 by the father of Roscoe Howells the local author of the book 'Old Saundersfoot',) in which Merlewood is mentioned and containing photos of before and after conversion!) There lived Bill Frost, founder and conductor of Saundersfoot Male Voice Choir, and Deacon at Bethany Chapel at the time. Bought by the Williams family In 1971, the property was converted into a 21 bedroom hotel without ensuite facilities in any bedroom! Over the years, en-suite facilities and upgrades have taken place to upgrade the property.
