Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. You could even take a ride on the steam train and get off at an excellent bay in which to canoe, swim, paddle and enjoy a full family day at leisure.

The town has everything that you'd need & the surrounding countryside is beautiful with some easy walks & some for the more adventurous. I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around. White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out. There are several other places to eat along the High Street, including pizza places and an Indian restaurant.

Disappointed of the town not a bit like we expected.Two nights we ate in a small Bistro just two doors from the hotel, the food was excellent and very friendly staff and service . It was called Cyfnod Cafe and Bistro.
