United States of AmericaCheck in was easy. Room was nice and clean and fresh. Bed comfortable. Shower a bit on the small side, but adequate.Good seating outside. The hotel is located at the very top of a long, steep hill. When approaching it through a very built up residential area, it does not look like there would be a hotel there, but just keep going up the hill and the area opens up. We walked down the steep hill to the shops on the high street. It's quite a hike back up the hill, but good excersise! It was a week-end, but there may be a bus to take you up the hill. Enquire at the pub..This hotel was excellent value for money. It's a pity that the bar/restaurant is not open in the morning for breakfast. Suggest taking a small box of cereal and some milk for the morning.

IrelandI loved everything about the property. It’s a lovely hotel downstairs is a bar and restaurant. The staff are so accommodating kind and friendly. Also there is a little cat there called Polly who lives there and she is beautiful and just get on with her day. Also the owner allowed me to work downstairs while they were cleaning as I had left the room and lovely. Gemma gave me a small coffee on the house. What a beautiful humble people. I love Wales.
United KingdomThe room was excellent value for money. Considering it was above a very busy pub it was really quiet, we couldn't hear a thing! It was warm and cosy after a cold evening at the rugby, just what we needed. No breakfast facilities but plenty of tea and coffee in the room to keep us going until we found somewhere for breakfast. I would definitely use again and recommend a stay.

Originally a 16th century farmhouse, this friendly country inn is set in its own grounds, overlooking the small town of Blackwood, near Newport, with the Brecon Beacons within easy reach. Pengam
Brewers Lodge is a pub, restaurant & event suite with accommodations, all rooms are on the 1st floor above so you may experience some noise.
Room rates are room only, our restaurant isn't open for breakfast but there are lots of cafes nearby.
Train Station is 2.7 miles away and there is a bus interchange just 0.5 miles away.
There are 15 modern rooms with attached bathroom, each with satellite TV. WiFi access is available throughout.
Brewers Lodge was once owned by the family of the infamous Captain Henry Morgan.
Just a short distance from some of the region’s most beautiful woodland, the lodge is nevertheless within easy reach of the cities of Newport, Cardiff and Bristol.
