There is a great beach Summerleaze, which is really near the hotel where you can go on in summer or winter and have a great walk along the coast, or a paddle. There were lots of surfers out there.
There are plenty of cafes/restaurants to visit even in autumn/winter
Bude is a great central place to stay and easily visit other attractions in Cornwall and Devon - Eden project, Tintagel Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan - just be aware that the satnav tends to send you down all those very narrow 1 track roads!
Only regret was that we didn’t manage to fit in a cream tea

I've been travelling to Bude for the last 42yrs, always try to get there at least once a year. Love this part of the country and the only place I feel totally relaxed and peaceful. Great sandy beaches, the great Bude sea pool, good food to be found in many places.
The sea lock leading to the Bude canal offers great walks, leading to nature trails, including bird hides looking over the marshes.
Great surfing and also great links golf course.

Excellent staff, amazing location, delicious breakfast - Atlantic House made our trip super special and we would definitely stay again! The hotel is in a fantastic location at the top of town so you can easily access the beach and town. They arranged a balloon & banner after I told them we were staying for my partner’s Covid post-poned birthday trip, and they also booked us into the fully booked restaurant when they had a cancellation. The hotel is clean and everyone is friendly, a gem in Bude!
The location was perfect…right on the beach and next to the shops. The hotel gives you the perfect Cornish feeling, it was cosy, comfortable and clean. I was in a single room and there was still plenty of space. Lots of storage for my clothes, a mini fridge was excellent as the weather was hot. Large wide screen tv on the wall and a lovely little chair I sat in watching through the window. It was a busy hotel in the centre of town but was surprised how quite it was which was a bonus.
The stay in the Grosvenor guest house was excellent, I liked the reception upon arrival, the room and the breakfast.
You get a good selection of what you would like for breakfast and the owners can't do enough for you. The other guests were also very nice and got on with them very well. The location in Bude is perfect, the walk to the beach is only 5 mins, local restaurants and the Town Centre is nearby as well. I would definitely recommend to others.
Hotel location was very convenient for my onward travel. The room was large enough and had the necessary facilities. Breakfast was also excellent and served very quickly, which I had requested due to having to leave early.
I must thank the staff, all of whom were very helpful with both the hotel and other local knowledge and despite being very busy on my arrival, served me immediately. The Globe is a friendly place with good people working there.
The Falcon Hotel has been a meeting place for me and my family for as long as I can remember, over 50 years. Together with The Brendon pub next door, The Falcon Hotel is an icon of Bude and in fact North Cornwall. The Falcon Hotel is of historical importance, it is a wonderful building in an amazing location. The staff are local, friendly and always helpful. I look forward very much to returning in the future.
This was the first time in Bude for us and the Hotel had fabulous views. Our room had an exceptional view of the beach including doors that opened onto a small balcony. The restaurant and bar facilities were very impressive for a smaller hotel and I can imagine how popular the terrace becomes during the warmer months. We would definitely stay again, preferable next summer. Lovely food too.
. The staff are so very friendly. Jamie the owner made us feel so welcome. We were in Bude for a wedding and after discussions with our family we had clearly chosen the best hotel in Bude. The breakfast is outstanding. the beds in the superior rooms are queen sized just fabulous and extremely comfortable. We would without a blink of an eye stay here again. Thanks for a great experience
The seclusion - great fishing when ever you want - excellent facilities- BBQ - Firepit - all loaded with wood and charcoal - 1m walk to Bude via the Bude canal - so peaceful it was like being 10 miles into the countryside - well hidden and definitely worth a visit if you like the seaside and fishing - we will be back ohhhhhh and the best bit Kingfishers on the pond all day everyday.
Kerenza Hotel is a gem in Bude's crown. Parking at the hotel is easy and a big plus in a town where parking is sometimes difficult. The hotel is only a short walk from the main part of the town and Crooklets Beach but in a quiet location. Accommodation is bright and modern and the staff are brilliant, friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We will certainly be back !!
Our hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location was very convenient for touring the north Cornwall coast, and the B & B itself was very easily accessed from the A46. There was easy parking and the guest rooms had there own entrance at ground level. The decor was very attractive. The breakfast cooked to order was excellent.
I liked the open plan ground floor and the beautiful bedroom with sea view and terrace looking due west with sunsets and the sound of the ocean. There were walks in all directions starting right outside the hotel. The staff were warmly friendly and the housekeeper shared ideas, information and local knowledge. The food was excellent.
Kara was very welcoming, the room was warm, cosy and clean with a wonderful bath! The location of the property was ideal, close to all amenities and an easy walk to the beach. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. I highly recommend Sunrise Guest House for an enjoyable stay in beautiful Bude.
Exceptionally friendly staff. Room perfectly cleaned and all refreshed each day.
We booked the small double room, which was still more than adequate size, not particularly small compared to other hotels stayed in the past.
It was our second stay and will definitely stay again if visiting Bude.
Breakfast was served quickly and was always hot and cooked well. Loved the prawn and hake curry which I had for dinner and it was a generous portion.
Walked from the hotel and did a circular route into Bude via the tow path which starts directly over the road from the B&B
The location and atmosphere was pleasant and r3ally made me feel quite happy and relaxed.
The walks to reach the town of Bude(which is in Cornwall and within a mile and a bit of caravan park) were filled with good views.
I liked the arcade and I played the games.
This is the perfect place for families and couples to enjoy the gateway to Cornwall. A beautiful and very homely feeling caravan with a luxury style. Everything was perfect and couldn't fault a thing!
The deco of the hotel was pleasant. Adequate outside seating areas with good views over the bay.
Evening meal was nice although a bit pricey and the waitresses were attentive.
Walking distance to the beach. 12 minutes drive to Bude centre. 20minutes drive to heritage coast. Nice breakfast, they had a choice of Veggie breakfast which was a bonus.
