Located in the Cairngorms National Park, this restored Victorian shooting lodge has kept many of its traditional characteristics. Muckrach Country House Hotel offers a restaurant and bar, serving locally sourced produce.

Each room features an private bathroom with either a bath or shower, and complimentary toiletries. Rooms offer an iPod dock, and some with flat-screen TVs and seating areas. Guests have the use of a reception, drawing room and library, with a log burning stove, and have access to free WiFi.

The Cowap family have restored this beautiful Victorian shooting lodge to its previous glory, from a bare-bones building to a luxurious and vibrant Scottish Highland hotel which now features its own coffee shop and restaurant.

We are a 4-star luxury hotel in the Highlands of Scotland, only a 20 minute drive from Aviemore. Our 13 bedroom luxury property is situated in Cairngorm National Park (the UK’s largest National Park) and is the perfect choice for an active trip or relaxing break - the choice is yours!

We are surrounded by 10 acres of spectacular pastureland and a Scottish castle; making us an ideal choice of accommodation for short trips and weekend breaks in Scotland. The lodge is recognised as a fun-filled hub for shooting, skiing and fishing. The two newest rooms can be found adjacent to the main hotel. These two rooms are dog friendly (Dog Friendly Garden Room and Dog Friendly Garden Suite) and your well behaved dogs are allowed on a lead in the Library of the hotel.
