“The room was more than a standard double and had a delightful view of the harbor. There were blackout curtains to ensure a good night’s sleep. They even provided binoculars for a better view. Since it was a former library, our room came with a selection of books. It is a hostel, so toilets and showers were across the hall. They were spotlessly clean and we had our own designated toilet and shower facility for our room. There is a small sink in your room. There is a lovely large and sunny common room downstairs. There is access to a kettle and refrigerator. They provide each room with their own set of dishes and tea, coffee making supplies.”

“I cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and the location. There was one member of staff present who was helpful when required and overall we had a very comfortable stay.”

“Really cool and interesting building with lots of original features. Great location next to bus stop (for bus to / from St Andrews). Very cosy room with a comfortable bed and everything was exceptionally clean. Yan (hostel owner) was amazing, they were so friendly and offered great tips of what to do / see in Anstruther. We had a double bedroom with a beautiful view of the harbour. The toilet and shower room was separate from our room but that didn’t bother us - they were very clean and very well marked out so that each room had a matching toilet / shower area so not sharing with other guests. There was a communal area downstairs with a fridge and tea / coffee making facilities. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cosy stay in Anstruther.”
