Set in a grand 3 storey building built during the major industrialisation of Belfast along the Antrim road, this is where the factory owners and money families lived. The beautiful old gate posts at Fortwilliam park exhibit the wealth that was back then. In the shadow of cave hill, which offers brilliant views over Belfast lough and only a short distance from the city zoo. The area its self is steeped in history from the blitz to the troubles. During the Blitz the local area was targeted because of the water holding facility at the water works. This is now a great place to go for a walk, exercise or even watch the ducks and swans that live there. The zoo had to kill animals in case they escaped from hyenas to a black bear, there is a tail that an elephant was kept in a local house to avoid being killed. As for the Troubles, we are local to the infamous Crumlin road goal and court house. Excellent tours are offered here and give a look into Belfast's past. The bottom of the Antrim road is when you can see the cathedral quarter of the City or town as locals will still call it, this is the biggest and best nightlife Belfast has to offer.
