Great countryside setting. Cozy and well appointed. Nice touch to have sherry awaiting our arrival, with plenty of wood for multiple fires in the cute fireplace stove. Two good pubs nearby with great food.

Nestled in Tucking Mill Valley, in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, award-winning Fishermen's Retreat features modern, light interiors and tranquil views; fly fishing is available from the bottom of the garden. Just 3 miles from the UNESCO Heritage Sites of Bath, the property is also 5 minutes' walk from the newly built cycling and pedestrian tunnels, which reach Bath center in between 10 and 30 minutes.
Overlooking the orchard and gardens, there is a terrace for outside dining. The 2 bedrooms feature elegant décor. The spacious lounge provides a wood burning stove and a cozy sofa bed, along with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV/DVD player. There is a shower room with free toiletries, and bed linen and towels are included.
Modern and fully equipped, the kitchen at Fishermen's Retreat - Self Catering has a hob/oven, a microwave, and a dining area. A fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and washing machine are also included.
Bird watching can be enjoyed from the 2 patios and garden, and guests might spot deer, badgers, otters or barn owls in the surrounding countryside. Free parking is available, and Midford Castle is a 15-minute walk away.

I have lived in the Midford Valley near Bath for 45 years in Tucking Mill Manor. I find that the location, wildlife and environment is unsurpassable. You must really come and see it for yourself! My team and I run this small holiday business from our own home just outside Bath We own all the properties we let and that includes 3 cottages at Tucking Mill 12 mins Bath city centre and 2 luxury apartments in the city itself. We converted all the properties over the last 2-3 years to the standard that we enjoy when we are away. As a self catering operation, our strategy is to ensure our guests have as seamless communication as possible and only need to contact us if there is a problem.. We work hard to constantly upgrade our properties to ensure the Gold Standard is maintained and as close to home from home as possible.

The reason people always come back to Fishermen's Retreat is because it is a true haven of calm. Located so that you can enjoy the outstandingly beautiful countryside in the Midford Valley while only being a short drive from Bath city centre, it benefits from being the best of both worlds. The interior of our property evokes both comfort and luxury; a wood-burning stove with logs and kindling provided, 1200-pocket spring beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and a homely living area are just some of the reasons why we stand out. We also go the extra mile to provide other elements and offer plenty of local information, guides and personalised recommendations to ensure every guest has a memorable stay. Fishermen's Retreat also has a private garden and terrace.

Fishermen's Retreat is in the heart of the Midford Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It neighbours the West of England Falconry, where you can enjoy hawk walks, and is just a short walk from the Two Tunnels and Sustrans Route 24 - so it's a must-visit destination for walkers and cyclists. Fly-fishing enthusiasts will also love the private stretch of the Midford Brook, where guests of our cottages receive exclusive fishing rights. Two superb country pubs offering lunch and dinner are just a ten minute walk away, and an award winning deli is just a little further up the hill. Furthermore, Fishermen's Retreat has private on-site parking, making it easy to get back and forth to Bath city centre, which is just a 12 minute drive away. We also have a deal with the local taxi company, and buses run regularly to Combe Down, which is about a 15 minute walk. Outdoor activities like boating on the canal and riding at Wellow are also no further than 2 miles from the cottage, so there's plenty to see and do!
