The B&B is situated on the edge of Lanark, a short walk in one direction to the centre of town and in the other to the World Heritage Site of New Lanark. Guests will enjoy the use of a section of my house and off road parking. The front door opens into the guests private area comprising of a hallway which gives access to the double bedroom, bathroom and sitting/dining room. In the sitting/dining room there is a TV with freeview and a DVD player. There are many DVD's and books provided. In the hallway there is also a door to my own part of the house. From the back garden there are uninterrupted views of the Clyde Valley and as it is south west facing enjoys day long sun and beautiful sunsets when the weather is obliging. Guests will be able to make use of the garden to relax and enjoy the scenery.
I have recently retired from teaching and have always had in mind to open part of my house for a B&B business. I am a very social, friendly person who would love to try to help guests enjoy their visit to Lanark/Scotland. Over the years I have accumulated many hobbies. As a former P.E. Teacher I like to keep fit by attending classes walking, cycling and gardening. Non fitness interests include attending an art class, baking and decorating speciality cakes including wedding cakes.
Lanark is a Royal Burgh and market town, with a weekly animal market each Monday. It is centrally situated between Glasgow and Edinburgh and has rail and bus routes to both cities. My home is on the route to New Lanark and looks over fields and the valley from the back. It is ideally situated for guests to enjoy beautiful walks in the countryside, visit New Lanark or use it as a base to explore Scotland.
