Centrally located in one of the most picturesque villages of the Lake District, Norwood House is surrounded by dramatic scenery and is just a 15-minute walk from the northern edge of Lake Windermere. Free parking is available to guests, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout.

    Morning You need to get a train to Windermere and then a bus to Ambleside, the bus stop is just around the corner.

    Hello When you arrive in Ambleside, please pull up outside the house to unload your bags. We will check you in, give you your keys and then direct you to your parking space. Regards Norwood house

  • Good morning. I am looking at a last minute trip to the Lakes. I see this single room has a shared shower. Is that still the case during Covid times? Or does this room now come with a shower to itself?

    Good morning This single room has its own toilet and washbasin and shares a shower with our other single room.

  • What is meant by partially refundable. Is it possible to book a room with a bath? Is there a car hire company in your area?

    The first night is taken as a deposit to confirm at the time of booking and is non-refundable. You can choose the room with a bath if it is available for your dates and the nearest car hire company is Kendal.

  • Do you have ground floor rooms available, or a lift and are your car park facilities near the house? My husband can't walk far and was diagnosed with dementia 4 years ago

    Hello Norwood is a Victorian mid terraced house and there are no ground floor rooms available, nor a lift. Our parking spaces are a 2 minute walk away. Regards - Norwood House
